one religion/ many religions/aliens- a theory.

so here's my theory (bear with me)

a very very long time ago.. the beginning of time (on earth) in fact, aliens landed (with a huge boom). they found earth to be quiet hospitable so they experimented.

they put water on earth and then little tiny germs in the water.

they helped these amoeba's to grow and turn gradually into fish and birds.

they tended their "earth" and gradually built up a selection of wildlife (yes, including dinosaurs), but then they had an idea.

i mean, they are aliens after all.. and not just any aliens... very intelligent rich aliens.

why not stage a little competition?

so they wiped out the dinosaurs in order to make room for their new game.. humans.

by trial and error they gradually developed monkeys into humans.

the first 2 humans that worked out they gave a limited amount of knowledge and tested them to see if they could stick to rules.

of course these humans royally screwed up so they took away all the privileges.

then the games began.

they spilt up the world into continents. each player took a section of a continent and worked on it. they developed thier people and told them what was right or wrong.

some of these aliens chose to reveal themselves to the people, calling themselves God, or Allah, or Jehovah, Brahma, Vishnu, etc.

in some countries (egypt for example), they commanded the people to build a map home (pyramids in line with the stars).

now came the important part...

which group of humans would get it right? would they all just kill each other without taking the time to find out they all came from the same place, but just called their "god" by a different name?

some of these aliens even took the time to make sure people knew what would happen if they couldnt sort themselves out. armageddon.

roughly translated: game over.

and frankly if the humans dont get it soon and realise there are many gods, but they are all different sides of the same coin... then the aliens will tire of us and boom!

game over.

i think i read too many conspiracy theory magazines as i was growing up and now i have combined it with my religious studies degree... and ta dah!

seriously though.. i can actually describe a lot better and more academically so it's convincing in converstation... i dont know if i believe myself, but its feasible!

Hmm. Ok, interesting ;) First off, a few things seem a bit itchy. Humans did not evolve from monkeys, for starters. Next, how aliens could have landed in such a hostile, violent environment, with thrash after thrash of lightning, molten lava squirting out into the atmosphere, the air itself poison, that the earth was in billions of years ago is beyond me. Also, you're giving reasons which don't really give explanations. How did they evolve organisms into fish and birds? How did they change the state of the earth billions of years ago to become habitable enough to support amoebas (as you put it)?

Basically, what I am saying is - this is a very very general theory that doesn't really seem to be supported by any evidence, and sounds like what one would think up while daydreaming (not that it sounds bad). You said you could explain it more, so I hope you can help me understand the tidbits.

Now, the theory is very general, but it is quite possible. How could the aliens manipulate ornagisms? Well, genetical engeeering. And, yes we could be an experiment... if so, I'd really like to know who were the initiators... I'd like to come ringing at their door and introducing myself as one of their long-ago experiments. 8)

Actually, there is some few genes that differ us from monkeys. Maybe they took inspiration from animals they created prior to humans?

Not nesesary. We don't have to land on Jupiter (which by the way is pretty hard to land on, since the "ground level" on that planet is totally liquid, and there are too many storms to do anything at all, not mentioning the pressure) to experiment with different materials which the planet is made of, right?

They could as well manipulated other organisms from other planets to fit our/the created envirvoment. Maybe they even inhabitated this planet with creatures from other places without manipulation.

Actually, I myself have been thinking of this kind of thing (aliens creating humans). Although, I can't see why they want to make a game out of this. It does sound like Matrix, say, the world isn't "real", but just a game.

Another, pretty dark and dysthopical "theory", is that God created aliens on another planet, which later created us. This may explain why there is so little evidence of religion in overall, and why people just can't follow simple rules such as "don't kill" or "don't steal". Also why we constantly battle each other for things that will be forgotten in 500 years. This would make us soulless bodies, who die, and like some people say, will just dissapear (no Heaven or Hell for us).
