Which PC Dune game is your favourite? Here they are:

Dune

Dune II: The Building of a Dynasty (I think it's also known by another name)

Dune 2000

Emperor: Battle for Dune

Frank Herbert's Dune

Before everyone exclaims, "Emperor, of course!" let me explain further. I want you to tell me which game you had the most fun playing when it came out.

I would have to answer my own question with Dune II. When that game came out, it was the only computer game my elder brother and I played for months (of course, I was quite young then).

The game I had the most fun playing when it came out eh? :)

Dune 2000. Hands down. ;)

That kept me occupied for years. I'd grab 5-6 Ordos Combat Tanks and go hunting enemy infantry to crush. :D

Emperor Battle For Dune

Although annoying it is fun to see a reality portion of running out of spice during the campaign when trying to take over thee ENTIRE planet of Arrakis.

Emperor hands down.

Unfortunaly for me, I got into Dune from Emperor. So I could never experience the joys of the other Dunes because I need high graphics for me to play any games. So I bought some of the other Dunes, but as stated I need the graphics and I just threw'em out.

My favorite Dune game was Dune: The Battle for Arrakis. I've not heard it anywhere since the last time I played it, and I havent even read about it on the internet, only Dune II. It was an old game for Sega Genesis, claimed to be the first Real Time Strategy. I kept at that game for years, even though it was probably the most horrible RTS ever. No drag box (had to click each unit and order it) only 10 missions for each house that didnt change much. No skirmish, it was total ariel 2D. But it was the most fun I ever had.

The biggest mistake I ever made in games was selling that game... Regretted it ever since.

I think I was wrong. The PC version isn't known by another name (it's known only as The Building of a Dynasty). I was probably getting the PC version mixed up with the Sega Genesis version.

Even though I enjoyed Dune II the most, Dune (the first PC Dune game (by Cryo)) was on the right track. It mixed strategy and adventure, and that is the right mixture for Dune games.
