Well, we all frankly knew it would come to this one day, theres no need to go through the same'ol story of how Emperors dead but it is and they just closed down the clan system. Unfortunaly, I dont doubt that the QM ladder will be next up to bat in a few weeks.

Dune 2000 had more publicity I think, its been a while so I don't really remember. As for the C&C titles the older titles like RA2 or even TS are still played by a lot of people, I think more then Emperor.

For Renegade there is already a third party project for replacing WOL if/when it goes down, called "Renegade Evolutions". Maybe something similiar could be done with Emperor.

Yeah, REOL (Renegade Evolutions Online) but it's only for renegade.

I suppose EA consider keeping WOL up to be proper support... They even make it sound like they are supporting Emperor well...lol

It is amazing how vehement EA are in maintaing their charade,lies,propoganda type speech and maintaining that their bull$h!t/lies are in fact true...
