Actually I think the numbers country-by-country are closer than one would assume based on the media coverage. Many countries are neutral or undecided. Of course, some would have you believe this is in fear of US backlash...

The difference of strenght between two countries always has an effect in diplomacy, wether we like it or not. Now, how big it is, I don't know. Some see a possibility of placing themselves closer to their interests also.

John McWethy, ABC's national security correspondent, said on air: "Those eyewitnesses say that they saw Saddam Hussein being taken from the wreckage on a hospital gurney, that he had an oxygen mask over his face.

"They are interpreting that as meaning that there is some problem with his health...but they are still extremely cautious about what his condition is."

We have the capability to make the world's first Bionic man.

Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before.

Where the hell do you get 8000? I have only heard a little more than 1000...

Also, the city of Nizarae or whatever the hell it is called was just taken over, defeating the 11th Iraqi Light Infanty Division. They were going to surrender at first, but a Republican Guard came down and forced them to fight, but towards the end of the battle the rest surrendered.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - An Iraqi regular army division surrendered to coalition forces in southern Iraq (news - web sites), the first division-sized unit to do so since the start of a US-led ground offensive, Pentagon (news - web sites) officials said.

The commander and deputy commander of the 51st Mechanized Division, based in Basra, which lay in the path of the invading US forces, surrendered to US Marines at an undisclosed location, the officials said.

Their men lay down their weapons and surrendered to marines that they encountered, a US defense official said.

About 8,000 to 10,000 troops are believed to be in an Iraqi division, although it was not clear how many troops were taken prisoner in this instance.
