Have you ever...?

Have you ever had the oppertunity of a lifetime infront of you but not taken it because you chickened out??

For example; There was this girl I know who I was absolutely crazy about and she kinda liked me. I always wanted to ask here out but I could never pluck up the courage. It went on like this for a month or two when something happened. It turned out that one of my best friends asked her out and she said yes. I was really depressed for ages and only recently got over it. But then when I was talking to one of her friends she said that the girl really liked me and would have gone out with me had I asked. So now I am really depressed again and was wondering if any of you have had an experience like me? But it doesn't have to be about girls.

Oh and whats the jewish word for a woman?

Something similar happens to everybody. It's so common there's even an old cliche for it. Doesn't make it any easier, but you asked if it happeend to anyone else, so there's your answer.

And hey, if she liked you then, maybe she still likes you now.

Well sadly even If she does like me she is over in Canada with him now :'( so there isn't much chance of anything happening.

Really? Where exactly in Canada? ;)

(Mahdi has eyes and ears everywhere) ;)

And he's right - there isn't a person in the world who doesn't regret a horrible choice he/she made at some time...

yes, everyone has missed several chances in their lives, some perhaps more than others, but it just happens. And even though you missed this chance, it does not mean that it was your last chance

i missed a chance once that had consequences so far reaching, that it nearly destroyed me. I remember the moment as clear as day. I had a choice once. Either this...or that. So seemingly inconsequential. So simple. At the time, I decided to just blow it off, having no idea how utterly stupid my decision was. The consequences of that choice literally ripped my life apart. I thought I had all the time in the world...I thought I could just blow it off and deal with it later...I thought....

But I was wrong.

I learned the hard way...seize the moments in your life. Do not waste them. When something good comes along in your life, don't take it for granted. Don't think it will still be there tomorrow.

Am I always the outsider there ? ;)

Had a few of them, ass we all had. But I liked the time we had, and in a way .. the illusion that remains of what could have been is just as valuable to me as any relation that would have came out of it. Even with some being verry intense for just a short time, I don't regret any of the desissions I made or had to make in the situation. Just more than happy that it happend . . .and as such I don't even dare to think of it as missed changes or any simular referance. However short it lasted, it was wonderfull.

I have the oppertunity of a lifetime all the time, or at least more then people generally think. Think it's the same with most of you . . ;)

Err, this doesn't necessarely have to be about a relationship. You can miss many different types of great opportunities.

Nor was my reply just in aspect to personal relation ships.

It was Freddy Heineken who ones stated "being rich is : at this point you are able to fly of to Aruba and spend the rest of the week there, but choosing not to".

Same with opertuneties, you can take any that comes along . . .but if you do so you would probably fail horrible in a few of them. So sometimes it could be wiser to let them pass and keep the illusion you ones had. . . if you do so. . that will be with you forever. Just anther perspection on it. :)

What would your life be worth if you reatched your dreams ? Nothing more to dream about. Mayby letting it go by would be just a good. Life is pretty bored without dreams. :)

Yep, some of my dreams. But not all of them. Some you take, some you don't and keep the illusion. They can be just as great in the end.

You carefully [ or just by straight luck ;D ] deside which to take, and which not to.

But then, that's what you've just mentioned. :)

I always tend to suffer, because of my indecisiveness. I have always made the wrong choice of never going for the gold figuratively speaking.

It is so hard to make the right choice, yet afterwards it seems so easy. Well, like they say, hindsight is always 20/20 ;D

A bad choice from my side(from economical perspective, it was actually fun to do this) was to buy lego for my birthday and pocket money until I was 10...

It's now gathering dust in the attic.
