lowzeewee Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 Stat unrealistic games here and the reason why they are unrealistic. For me i would choose hitman 2 because of the guards refusing to bother even if one of their comrade has fallen by their feet
Acriku Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 I would say Metal Gear Solid, but I don't think it's meant to be realistic :) It is unrealistic because1) From the previews, I don't believe there can be huge monster soldiers walking around2) Hitting a button a lot and in quick succession would give him good things in the end.3) Guard awareness is a joke.4) Probably more, don't know right now.
DukeLeto Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 Age of Mythology:Help from the gods? Favor? Praying as a resource? lol, come on.
Acriku Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 I think we should include the attribute that the games claim to be realistic as well.
VigilVirus Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 Return to Castle Wolfenstein:Take nazis, add some bioengineering. Add some demon summonning. LOL

rogue1896 Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 well this has gone WAY offtopic. lol. well, all games are unrealistic. b/c games are meant to be unrealistic. seriously, basically the only game i've ever played that's 'realistic' is Rogue Spear/Rainbow Six.
Acriku Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 Then you should really get your hands on Ghost Recon rogue :D
rogue1896 Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 actually i wanted to try Splinter Cell but it's only for that goddamned Xbox. and i'm not about to pay 300+ bucks to play it. hopefully it'll come out for the PC sooner or later. :-*note to self, play Ghost Recon*
IxianMace Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 Well come to think of it, don't you think most, if not all of the games that are out there are quite unrealistic? Look at Emperor Battle for Dune for instance. The Death Hand missile should be a NUCLEAR explosion, not a tiny excuse for a warhead detonation. ::) The Chaos Lightning should fry infantry to a crisp, but it doesn't. The Coriolos storm should tear the flesh off infantry instantly, but it doesn't. It's a great game, but if you're talking about realism, then ::) :P.The list goes on. Look at Grand Theft Auto 2. I could jump over a whole street of cars that are lined up, and I would go sailing over ALL of them like a little fairy. ::) :-* I could even jump off a building onto a car in and land on the street, only taking some bruises when I should have been killed! There are more that I could name, but I would be here all day if I did. That's why I don't judge games on their realism. I just play the game and see if I like it (games that fall into the flight simulation and 3D RTS/RTS genres are more likely to get my attention. The only times I look for realism is in games like Microsoft Flight Simulator, etc, etc, when the purpose is to actually get the software to try to be as realistic as the real thing. But for the rest of the time, it doesn't matter. Like I said before, most, if not all games are quite unrealistic, so you might as well put them all on your list. :P
Terror Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 There are few games that come even close to realismClose combat however does come close. Also the total war games seem to be quite realistic.
Anathema Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 World War III: Black Gold is very realistic. It uses actual tanks (like the LeClerc and the T-80) and units need to be resupplied with ammo.Sizes are usually unrealistic in most games. Look how small those tanks are in comparison to infantry in Emperor and Ra2.
