The Occult.

yup, a thread on the occult. Basically talking about the big groups like the Hellfire Club, the Ordo Templi Orientis, Hermitic Order, and many others. Aliester Crawley and people like him have built up huge followings through these cults. Many famous stars are involved in them, as well as the average joe. Their practices in higher orders are kept secret. The main philosphies though are extremely odd. Thelema, belief in Diana, I could go on. Also how groups like the Masonic Order and Scientology split off from original occult groups. (NO MENTION OF JACK CHICK! lol) What do you guys feel about these cults? any of you know details about them? how about the cults we have no clue about. Personally I think many of them are just harmless physically and mentally but dangerous spiritually. Some though are mentally and physically dangerous. My dad was a pastor up here and worked with the local catholic churches in the occult. He helped some people who were being tracked down by the true form of satanists to find safe hiding places. My dad has not told me much but he said they could always find the people that became one with them. Some had to go into hiding at convents and stuff. Some of these small cults are very real, people just dotn want to face them. so anyways. what do you guys think?

I don't think they should be treated differently from "mainstream" religions, but they just freak me out...

I'm glad we don't have many cultists up here :P

And I don't get why people would want to worship satan. You'd have to be a pretty screwed up person for that.

I don't think you should worry so much about the cults, until some cult mixs politics with relegion, then they should be 'removed' for being a threat to mankinds independence.

I disagree with you. as long as there not "forced" to. or threatend in any way to. but really i don't see whats wrong with provideing the truth about politcs. and peoples views on things.

As for what i think about the cults satenest and wiccans. well. i have nothing to fear.

you don't "give up your independence". all that verse baseicly means is. Give yourself to God. once you have done that. Saten can't even do as much as tuch you.

I wouldn't put it like that. but so what if you lose half an hour of game play or TV of study time in the bible.

anyway. i would say you lose your independence. i mean you still have a life. :)Your still a humen beeing. but you belive in God. and have a devotionl life. And your going to heaven. thats the only diffrance.

Well, tell ClonAid and the Raelian movement that. They say that everyone must accept cloning. And the best way to make people accept, or even force people to accept it, is trough changing the laws. And the only way to change the laws is to become a politician, so to say.

About occultism: as long as they don't interfere with me, force me to do their work or call other religions "shit", I don't mind them. It's an open world, people choose the religion and their belief as it suits them, and maybe the Freemasons or any other group is the closest thing they can put their mind into.

Yeah thats true to. if we where reffering to bad things happening to someone. . or in the future after you do it. but i was reffering to demons spells etc etc. you misunderstood. :)

Actully. both of ou are wrong. The bible says he will appear as an angle of light. Does sin look like a horable two horned saten wrong thing to do with no purpose? or does it look like a fun thing to do? or a temping thing. that you can get away with? :)

satan is a great enemy because he likes to lie. He is extremely intelligent and was created special by God. That is exactly why he is dangerous. Many are claimed because of his stratagies. So many people fall into satan's or their own created ideas. God is greater though

Satan wasn't created for evil. He was made as one of the best archangels, but refused to work for good of for him "lower beings", humans. God punished him for it, and he is trying to revenge by destroying his creation.

don't say "unbeliver" just say "unsaved" cause the could belive and still reject. You know even the devil belives and trembles.

Let this mind be in you. which was also in Christ Jesus.

If he made us with the same mind. then he wouldn't be telling us to have the same mind now would he? otherwise that would be a conterdiction.
