what are they? I absolutely hate two game pads: The first and worst of them is the X-Box game pad. Good freaking gravy! it is cluncky and gross. They made a new smaller one which is nice but geesh. Sorry joe its just true :P lol. The second is the old game pad for Jaguar. It had this matrix of 20 buttons listed by number. It had a horrible feel to it.

The best I have used is the N 64 controller and the PS/PS2 controller. And you cant beat the original NES one. four buttons baby.lol

what do you guys think?

i hated the original nes controller. it was too rectangular. the sharp edges would hurt my hands after a little while. then genesis improved upon that and made it round so the sharp edges wouldn't be a pain. sony made theirs round too but improved on the format of the controller and also added the R1, R2, L1, and L2. then the next system i got was 64. my favorite controller of all time. it was just soo comfortable. it combined the smoothness of genesis, some of the button placement of ps, and some new features and ideas like the Z button and the C buttons. the next one was ps2 which is basically the same as ps so i like that one too.

The worst was dreamcast, that was stupid. The best is N64/Xbox, I have manly hands ( hehe tma ) so it fits just fine and I love it. N64 is great because it fit perfectly.

OMG we agree on something. lol. the 64 was definetly the best of the best ;D the only problem i would ever have was trying to use the d pad AND the control stick

i like XBox (fairly big hands Mwahahaha) and the N64 controller. those are the best controllers. i have an N64 sitting right by me too, waiting for me to turn it on and r0x0r the Mortal Kombat 4 game

If I get the XBOX, and I likely will, it now comes with the controller S (the improved version), not to mention two free games. If you find the right store, you can even get more, like a second controller, for free.

Don't get me wrong, the PS2 type controller is probably better, but the XBXO controller, even the thick one, isn't a big deal. It's definitely usable. I do understand how it could be difficult for a ten year old though, so maybe age has something to do with it......maybe that means the target audience was a little older.

I always like the simplicity of the genesis controller........or maybe even the regular nintendo =) You can't go wrong with just two buttons and such light weight.

Didn't have an xbox so can't judge on that...my vote goes to the DC gamepad, I found it too round and the L/R buttons gets broken too easily.

The best I think it would be the snes one...light, good number of buttons, round edged(not like the original nes one)

I guess it would all depend on what kind of game you play. I used to be an MK freak. Cyrax and Kabal were the best baby.lol Oh and you gotta love smoke... anyways.lol The Snes controller for me personally was best for side scroll fighting games.

For 3d fighting games I would have to say the N64 pad. For fps games it would again go towards the N64, Of course computer is best for those games. Now when it comes to RTS' on consoles. I do not like them first of all on consoles, but I would have to choose the ps controller. Same with sports games and third person action/adventure games. For RTS style games I love the Snes controller and the ps controller is okay.

Oh god the N64 gamepad was very poorly designed, and made it impossible to use the sensitivity pad and directional pad without repositioning your hand on that big-ass middle handle.

The PSX/PS2 controller is the only one that I have found suits my fancy. It it compact, well laid out, and effective.

man the N64 game pad was ingenius. It was perfect how it was three pronged for both 3D and 2D action.

The PS controller broke too easily. My friend has 4 and 1 remains.

Maybe your squeezing the controllers too hard :) Do you really get into the games....hehe.

I was just playin with him anyway.

Don't think you have to worry about snapping the XBOX controller :)

you're right, i don't. lmao. i don't have an xbox so naturally i wouldn't have to worry about breaking it. on the other hand, why would i buy an xbox controller if i don't have a xbox. but then.. *he just goes on and on like this*
