by the time 2030 is here maybe we can send a few astronauts in space with weirding moduels and 'Cha' it to pieces send some of the laser guns to to get the small pieces ;D

A: Well intended, but you must understand the mass of an asteroid is vast, and that a few human bodies slammed against it wouldn't make any difference. Their actions would be remembered as foolish rather then heroic.

Actually if it hit the moon it would effect us. The moon is what causes the tides and reflects sunlight at night. So it is vital, a texas sized asteroid if it didn't shatter the moon would undoubtedly effect the tides by reducing the lunar mass pulling on them.

They could have made an accurate version, and made the asteroid smaller with an alien virus inside. So not only will it destroy a continent it will infect the rest of the world with a deadly virus.
