Hi Emp,

That it is on your screen that HE loses connection, it does not have to be him.

Imagine YOU lost connection, you get the same countdown screen, as so is he.

Both will give at the end "Victory is yours".

It happened to me once or twice in skirmish 2vs2. I got lost connection to player1

Then somebody kicked me and got lost connection to player2 lost connection to player3. Victory is yours...

Although i was the one who lost connectio with the other 3!

lol i get that so many times, and especially in BC.

You think you win, but if you check stats the loss went in your own pocket. And most of the time they don't even give you back a win.

And even that is futile, coz if u r as high ranked as SKUM is, u lose abt 40 - 45 pts and even if they give you back a win you might get 10 pts max.

Remains a loss of 35 pts. That's 7x playing against a 5 pts clan.....

its maybe he used a bug in this game cos he tried to d/c and hope for win after that or i dont know how u have took your pictures, normaly u can do only 1 and when u do a 2 then will the 1 delete. thus i think u did the first then u went to windows saved it and then the second ...

so its maybe that thats the reason cos u left the game for a while ...

i can tell you this, it says "atreides" which is bizzare since I was harkonnen! what the...?

And someone explained to me this last night: that you can pull your dsl/cable plug and then put it back in and it makes the OTHER guy lose CON. I'm just mystified at this cuz as you can clearly see in the pictures, even the first picture if you look at the background, i was wasting him pretty handily.

by the way, here is more proof that I was annihilating him. Look at picture 2. See all those red lines from my buzz and troopers pointed at a single spot? That was his con yard.

I heard people in this thread say that maybe I was the one that lost the con. However, what an amazing coincidence that i lose con just as I am killing his con yard.

Well he killed more units then you did although you killed more of his buildings. I'm not sure how WW analyzes the stats though but looking at it I would say you should have won.

Emp it's dead obvious that he was the one who d/ced. You were winning by a landslide. Gob, this guy may have killed more of emp's units, but look at how many they built. Emp built literally twice as many units. He had fifty-some when the game finished.

In my experience I had no idea that this happened accidentally, but it probably didn't. I'll bet that this guy d/ced on purpose (pulled the plug) and that he knew he'd get the good end of the deal even if he gave you a win since he had way fewer points.

As far as HOW it happened, well, somehow, and I'm not exactly sure why, the d/c tricked WOL into thinking that you had aborted the game. There are several factors that go into this, like lag, game time and connection types, but I don't know them all so it's kind of impossible to fight. Cable2ghz says he knows a way that the d/cer will get the win every game (not surprising coming from him) but I think he's full of it.

Now, why you were listed as atreides is decided like this...These three stats:

Record: 0/0/0

Side: Atreides

Have nothing to do with the actual game. They are your quick match stats. Obviously you have none since you don't play qm. But if you did, it'd say your points, record and your hose as listed in the ladder. Your house is decided by the percentage of games you've played with which house in qm. So if you have played 5 games, all with hark, it'd show up as hark. That said, if there is a tie (in your case 0:0:0) the house defaults to atreides, because it is the first house (I don't know how thats decided....maybe alphabetically, maybe WW just made it that way, I dunno.) So every game you play in clan, no matter what house you play it with, your stats will be listed as you having used atreides (unless you start playing qm).

Incidentally, sard said the exact same player d/c'd on him as well. Right as sard was killing his base, but sard still got the win. And about the point thing, you are absolutely correct!!

We had 440 points. I "lost" that game cuz he d/c and dropped to 400 points. He was nice and gave me back a win, so we went up to 431 points.

So instead of us going from 440 -> 460 points, we go from 440 -> 431. Wow, what a deal.

Ace, i also wanted to add that someone told me yesterday that if you have DSL or Cable and you physically pull the CAT 5 LAN cable from your computer, and then plug it back in after (X amount of time, i dont know how long), then the WOL servers will reconnect YOU and the other guy will be the one who LOSES the connection. (hence what happened to me) The person told me it works the majority of the time. Have you heard of something like this?

well he said it works only with dsl and cable. this would make sense because when you lose a tcp/ip connection VIA LAN, you can reconnect easily if you do before your timeout expires. On a dial-up, you have to re-authenticate and re-dial the connection.

I dont get it. Me and Rezoramon from AHS clan fought tonight. After 5 minutes of play (at least), I was in the process of destroying his base. He had no units (except 1 naib), no fac, no barracks and I had about 15 hark troopers and buzz in his base, he was clearly dead in about 60 seconds. Then he loses connection and the timer starts counting down. Well, it gets to ZERO and all his stuff explodes, "Victory is mine!" Or so i thought!! I go to check the scores and HE GOT THE WIN!! lol, how can that be?

FORTUNATELY, he was honorable and gave me my win back, so I have no gripe on him. He did not do it on purpose, I am just wondering how in the world I could take a loss when someone else quits? ANyone know?
