Back to the topic: the APC don't worth $900 if your only using them as an AA defence.

Well as the Ordos, I find the APC worth more for engi drops. The AA defence doesn't help much, because aircraft can eliminate Ordos APC's quite easily and quickly (1 no chevron Gunship will kill 1 no chevron Ordos APC in 2 hits).

But as an early defence, there's no way your gonna have AA mines and Troopers on the battlefield, they'll die too quickly.

Well, you could use APC's for defending spice fields against AirDrones. The APC is the fastest AA unit of all (on ground)

Besides air-drones, APC's are the fastest AA units for all house's units, and besides Ornithopter if you consider them to be one.

Ornithopter are very strong in groups. They don't do as much damage as Gunships, but they are ALOT faster. And with alot, thet can destroy bases too

Well if you're going to use large groups of Ornithopters, you should use it against House Ordos then. Atreides have Air Drones which eat Ornithopters faster than Gunships, and Harkonnen are the best house when it comes to AA defence (Gun-turrets, Missile Tanks, etc, etc).

ornithopters aren't as good as you think they are, scatter aa defences around the base, they'll shoot some down and when an building gets serieus damage get an engineer in, i'm sure most orni's have shot their ammo empty by then.

Yes they can, but they won't attack aerial units automatically.

Yes your right about that, 1 Gunship is like 2 Ornithopters combined together, but can't attack 2 target at the same time, have slightly less armor than 2 Ornithopters and have 1/2 the speed. They're only worth $500-$600 at the most. Or the Gunship should cost atleast $1500 if the Ornithopters does worth $1000.

Ornithopter's speed advantage wouldn't help them much, they're gonna hover anyway when attacking.

Gunship is always better unless your gonna have them flying across the battlefield and let them target and attack automatically.

Dodging... With that speed you can dodge alot of missiles.

When they attack, they aren't gonna fly at full speed when attacking, they're gonna hover. (when an specific order is confirmed)

And thats why i said, "unless your gonna have them flying across the battlefield and let them target and attack automatically" in my post above.

I said the dodge ALOT of missiles, so when they are reloading (not on the helipad I mean) I let them dodge much missile, and then they return, because they fire very quickly after they have taken firing positions

Well trust me, from hovering to start moving is far from enough time to dodge missiles, even the fastest unit in the game can't do so(a regular carryall might be the ONLY exception, i think).
