i forgot all about one for the new ordos players, here it goes:

1. as always you should follow this early bo: con. yard, windtrap, baracks, factory, refinery ordos units are cheap to build and it shouldn't affect your building bo too much.

2. after you've got your baracks up make 1 scout for each buildable corner of the map (some maps are different!!) send them to those places by clicking on the corner of the map in your radar.

3. next make an scout defence, place 1/3 chemicall troopers at each entrance, the amount you place there depends on the size of the entrance.

4. continieu to build chemicals untill you have about 5/10 of'em, stop building chemicall troopers if your money is getting too low.

5. your factory must be ready by now, deploy it and make 4/5 dustscout and 2 lasertanks (if your playing on an high money setting continieu making 4 dustscouts 2 lasertanks, 4 dustscouts 2 lasertanks)

6. give your dustscouts and lasertanks an number ctr + number give the dustscouts nr. 1 and the lasertanks nr. 2, and your group of chemicall troopers nr. 3

7. while you were building those tanks your refinery must be ready, deploy it, go to the upgrade tab and upgrade it 2 times.

8. attack your opponent, house ordos is build to rush, you wont survive an game vs hark. or atreides of you don't rush.

9. try to attack at his weak spots, for example: he has his base fully secured but not his harvesters, place some units near his spice field and attack his harvesters and carry als, this will cripple his econemy and prevent him from replacing destroyed units.

10. if you wanna be sneaky go back to step 3, after you've made your scout defence upgrade your baracks and make 1 engineer and proceed with step 4.

11. bring the engineer with you and punch an hole in their defences, keep his units far away so that the engineer can walk in the base and capture the con. yard or factory, after you've done that build and deploy an baracks in HIS base and start making engineers and capture his base.

12. if your opponent is turtling make an big aa defence and start making secondary bases. hit his econemy and hit 'n run his units till he hasn't got much, then attack!

--------------------------------------------------

things you should know:

ordos units are weak against fedaykins, make sure you place scouts everywhere to prevent an fedaykin ambush.

multiple buildings increase production speed, make sure that you have multiple buildings of everything, in case he engineers drops you.

chemicall troopers are very effective against light tanks and buildings, make sure you bring them with you in an rush!

feel free to ask questions ;)

Well if an Atreidies or Hark player is turtling, that means he's not attacking much and is slowly gaining strength and the grip on you too.

You better rush more and keep putting pressure on him if your Ordos and your opponents is Atr. or Hak. and is also turtling.......

What happens if the other player is Harkonnen, and he starts rushing you with Troopers, Light Infantry, Buzzsaws and Assault Tanks? The time it takes you to build your rush means that he'll be building his as well. He might even be building up a force of Gunships if the game started with lots of money.

Well mr, you must of forgot that, although hark units are relatively strong, but also cost more and take longer to build. Thats the biggest misadvantage for them, and thats why Harks will need to turtle and this almost exactly applies to Atreidies too.......

People say Ordos is good for rushing is because their units cost less as well as building time. This enables Ordos players to build up their force somewhat quicker and could possibly over-power their opponent before they're even ready....

the answer: first line: dustscouts and lasertanks second line: kobra's and morter infantry's

highly effective against any hark. ground rush.

and as for the gunships: rush him before he gets an hangar

A Buzzsaw owns a Dust Scout, an assault usually kills a laser 1 v 1, flamer will own morters and for Kobra, it'll be a problem at the start, but with gunships later on, its not a problem.

Well it's alright to say that, but what if you can't rush him in time or you rush him and fail?

Keeping Dusties and Lasers as static defences isn't very intelligent... it would be better to use them to harass the enemy forces before they reach your base. In open spaces Lasers own Assault Tanks. And Dusties can kill Buzzsaws one by one, running away to repair after each strike.

I think you're forgetting that Dust Scouts slow down dramatically when they get hit. The Buzzsaws might chase the Dust Scouts down after hitting them and then proceed to slaughter them.

I agree about the slowdown, but not the firepower. It's very hard to get Buzzsaws to fire both guns.

You're right, IxianMace... I suppose I would have to either provide cover fire with my Lasers or just fight to the death with the Dusties (I'll probably have more Dusties than he has Buzzsaws). Or maybe I should make a strike force of Laser Tanks only. Dusties are anti-infantry, not anti-tank.

an kobra + an morter infantry owns the buzsaws and assault tanks, lasers help killing the tanks and i said its effective against an harkonen ground rush, most players are too st00pid to buy gunships.

i use the dusties and lasertanks to protect the more valuable units, the kobra's and morter infantry, i find them much better against assault tanks and buzsaws, they got excillent splash damage, rof and reload time ;)

besides, the dustscouts and lasertanks also help to get some faster kills, just try it online, an harkonen player will never kill that combination with assault tanks ad buzsaws only ;)

fight to the death? nah.... just use morters and protect'em with the dustscouts, its much better then just attack with dustscouts, morters own buzzsaws if protected

Well even if you rush him in time, it doesn't mean that your attack is going to succeed.

Well if you rush in time, the success rate is almost abt 60% to most players

its not just the time you attack, its also with what you attack, rushes have 90% of succeeding or 10% of succeeding depending on with what you attack :)

punch through his defence and take over his con. yard with an engineer before he has an hangar up.
