I recently purchased a new PC...this Saturday actually, and I havn't even received it yet. So as you may guess, I have done loads of research, and know the scoop behind all the stuff. I'm not rolling in cash, so I didn't buy a system QUITE as good as nyars...but certainly a LOT cheaper ;) My new system is...

AMD Athlon XP 1800+

ThermalTake Volcano 7 Super Ball Bearing Cooler

Asus A7V333 motherboard (gotta agree with nyar that Asus is the way to go)

768mb DDR333

Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 40.9GB ATA-133 9ms 7200RPM 2MB (same as nyars HD [good choice nyar])

MSI Gefroce 4 Ti 4200 128mb

SoundBlaster Live! 5.1

Samsung 753DF 17" FlatScreen (NOT FlatPanel}

Logitech Optical Mouse

Microsoft PS/2 Keyboard

LG 16X DVD-ROM (don't be fooled by the name brand stuff, like sony)

Ovislink 10/100mbps Fast Ethernet PCI Adapter (for my broadband internet ;D)

$1796 CDN + tax ($1166 USD + tax)

it's a good buy, now I can crank the graphics on WarCraft III right to the top on 1280x1024 and still get silky smooth gameplay :D (right now I've got it on 800x600 with ALL graphics turned to lowest, and it still gets laggy during battles on my old PIII600mhz :( Damn I'm glad I'm getting a new PC!
