I agree. If you want to discuss how truly horrible War3 is, especially compared to the vastly superior Emperor, then fine. But don't make this into a War3 board unless you are gonna bash War3 and point out the superiority of Emperor.

Well I can see why you don't want people posting about it here in the Emperor boards but there isn't anything wrong with them posting it in the Gaming boards. This forum was never meant to just discus Emperor.

I think this board existed before Emperor was even announced... It is a Dune board.

With that said, to ignore the fact that many who play dune games also play War 3 would be stupi..err..Navaros like. Aside from that, any message board for games, especially one that is not affiliated with a company, should welcome discussion of any type of game. It is essential to survival...change happens. If he really wanted to, Gob could probably pull in some of the hundred thousand people who play War 3 to his site and maybe even generate interest in Dune in the process, because people who play War 3 are similar to the people who play Dune games.

Until next post...ohh, that's not my line. :P

There is nothing wrong with comparing Emperor to WCIII, just as there will be nothing wrong with comparing Emperor with another EA game, C&C Generals, when it comes out.

Still, this forum should be open to ANY discussion regarding Emperor, including unfavorable comparisons to other RTS games. The two best 3D RTS games, in MOST people's opinion right now, are Emperor and WCIII. When C&C Generals comes out, there will be yet another great RTS game, and it might top both of the other current heavyweights. I'm certainly going to compare Generals to its predecessor, aren't you?

No, I am gonna boycott Generals and every other piece of Westwood/EA crapola that ever comes out until they patch Emperor so there are no bugs left. Smart customers will do the same. Boycott Westwood. Boycott EA. Cheers!

Nav you should be keen enuf to understand that most peope wont be as sensible as you to boycott WW like you want them too....they are all gonna run out and buy the next WW ..thing..even if it blows big time like Renegade or RA2....i can say i am very pleased i DIDNT buy renegade or RA2......but i think Generals will be an enhanced version of Emperor...and if it is then I will probably purchase it....because frankly thats what i am interested in....I wont boycott WW but I will be picky about what I do buy from them (i.e. buying Generals and Emperor and not Renegade or RA2).However...Generals lacks the Sci-fi element that Emperor has.....I dont know if that is a plus or negative........

C&C Generals will be NOTHING like Emperor. For one thing, they're using a Blizzard-like interface (total crap).

Generals is just Starcraft in 3D, with less differences between races (armies).

Actually, I'm willing to bet Westwood is gonna find a way to make the interface even WORSE than the current Blizzard one. Screw-ups are WW's speciality... and then they say:

"Ummm, yeah, ok, but look at this BRAND NEW game we're making! You get units with NEW NAMES!"

Well, according to PC Gamer magazine, Westwood is no longer Westwood. It will be EA Pacific. And I don't believe the C&C creators are going to screw up. No matter what you say about RA2, it HAS been well-supported. RA2 got plenty of patches/new maps, and the Yuri's Revenge expansion is very good--if you like RA2, that is. Abandonment is what Westwood did to Emperor, not what happened with RA2.

Yeah, I'm still pissed about Emperor. I am pissed because it's a great game that could have been better and deserved continued support despite its low sales. However, all of you who are bitching about Westwood and saying you are going to boycott Generals are still playing Emperor, so Westwood at least made a great game that you are still hooked on, right? And I'm betting you ALL will run right out and get Generals if it's only just as good as Emperor. All it will take is good advertising and enough money in your pockets. We may be unhappy with Westwood, but we all know a great game, and great game-creating talent went into Emperor even if the sales didn't justify an expansion or continued support.

As for the Blizzard interface, it is excellent in my opinion, even though I'm much more accustomed to a Westwood-style game interface. I expect Generals to combine the best of ideas from every RTS yet made, so it's gonna be good, just you wait.

Oh my freaking god, do you people do anything but b*tch? We'll make this simple:

The gaming board is for all opinions about all games, such as "War3 is better than Emporer", no matter how wrong those opinions are. ;)

The Emporer board is about EMPORER ONLY, NOT for comparing it to other RTS's, that would be the GAMING forum.

Editing is about editing ALL DUNE GAMES, hence the title, "DUNE EDITING"

The GENERAL forum is for everything else.

Whew. 8)
