who is the preacher in children of dune is he really Muad'dib

I would say that he is but refuses to admit that he is because he no longer wants the responsibility of leadership. He lost his faith in his own ability to lead the people.

He is Paul Atreides. There is an instance where he grabs Alia's hand and he refers to her as sister.

When he went to the desert at the end of Messiah he was found by a group of outcast Fremen. They realised that he was Muad'Dib and they kept giving him large amounts of spice so that he could tell them the future.

This propably messed up his thinking.

I always thought he did not like the future he saw, because he did not know which path to take in the nexus.

Paul knows which path to take, he just doesn't want to take it.  Leto's Golden Path is what Paul sees, but doesn't want to go through with it.  Leto and Paul(as the preacher) discuss this towards the end of GEoD.

I also think that the Preacher is Paul and the Dune Chronology also says the same.

And yes, Paul is the preacher ;) He is all mysterious and dark, pretty cool. He has this cool face mask (Ix) that let's him see.

Yes the black Ixian mask was a fake. It sais so at some point. But the Preacher doesn't even need his Guide, it's just for show, he can see with Oracular vision.
