Shai Hulud: The Band

Believe it or don't: There is a harcore punk band that goes by the name of Shai Hulud. Coincidence? Evidently; some of the band members have a great deal of respect for the one and only Frank Herbert, and decide to name their band after the great Fremen god. Whodda thunk it?

Well hopefully they contacted the owner of the rights to the works of great late Herbert, but that is a cool name for a band.

I don't know if that is breaking copyrights... probably border line and they aren't a very big band so the copyright holders may not even know about them.

There is also a band called Dune I think.

Yeah, there is a band called Dune, who named themselves after the book.  But there isn't any other connections to Dune.  They don't write their own songs, AFAIK, but they do a good remake of Queen's "Who Wants to Live Forever?".  Although Queen's is better.

Don't forget about Princes of the Universe, which is the theme from the Highlander movies and series.  But yeah, Bohemian Rhapsody and Who Wants to Live Forever are really good.

Uh..ok. I forgot to mention this earlier, but Shai Hulud is an "underground" band.

Dune band wrote a lot of their own songs, not only "Who wants to live forever". I have some of their records.

And they have song name "Spice" (melange?)

Gunseng:  "Who Wants to Live Forever" isn't written by them.  It's by Queen.

I know that this song is written by Quenn, Vanguard, but is not their only song. They did record with songs of another bands. In their other records are their own songs.

Man im gonna laugh my ass off, If they make a Funny Flash 5.0 file about that. The band playing and Suddenly the Shai hulud swallows up the band, They scream like hell and Gets barfed out... Shredded into pieces and stuff :)
