Fed2k.com posible forecast

I was thinking what might happen with this site in the future.

1. There are no projects for dune based games in the near future.

2. There are no projects of books based on dune.

3. There are no movies planned since the TV series was not really succesfull.

4. WW has abandoned Emperor.

What do you think will be fed2k like in about 1 year ? 2 years ?

I almost don't play emperor anymore, but i try to enter this message board when i have the chance. Because renegade takes all the time i can have for games.

Eventually i would stop visiting this board, and maybe some people will do also. If there are no projects in the horizont, how can new people come here and joins this community..... maybe its yet time to do something.

but there are new dune games planned (I can think of 1 at least)

and nyway who really cares? I still play the original dune made by Cryo from time to time cos its so well made!

The same definitely goes for dune 2. Shame about dune 2000 but well...

Just want to say,

2. The Butlerian Jihad Trilogy is under development and then Dune 7. Those are book projects for the future.

3. Children of Dune Miniseries is under development for the Scifi Channel.

yeah i cant wait for Children of Dune. I really liked the fisrt miniseries *ducks the flames of those who hated it* But hey I liked the David Lynch movie too ;D

I am for the idea that any board should be open to multiple games. Maybe a section on War3, for example, or some of the popular shooters out there. If people from War3 started to come, the site could easily double the current level of traffic...though I'm not sure what that means for bandwith issues and all that.

As it stands now, people talk about other games but in more of an unofficial capacity...under the "general" column. By updating and getting into newer games, you can maintain people and attract new ones.

yes, maybe you can make it, an RTS board, an RPG board, etc, but still dune2k, you know what i mean? As we all talk about wc3 anyway.

Sometimes getting more people isn't a good thing, but sometimes it isn't a bad thing. If you were here before E:BFD community came in (not that everyone or anyone is responsible) you would know the change Fed2k went through (good or bad : you be the judge).

In the dark halls of Dune Editing, Neonext is building a DII clone... perhaps we might see more games like this and like Arrakis (http://arrakis.dune2k.com/), games all to ourselves...
