House_Corrino
they don't have the r-turret's range, but they're pretty powerful (especially vs. air)
nemafakei
And damn annoying.
House_Corrino
If you can see 'em aheada time, minos, inkvines, and kobras can outrange them. If you can't, you'll get a nasty suprise!
nemafakei
And you don't hear them or see the bullets or anything, so you just see the health go down and down and down...
House_Corrino
What do they fire anyways? Rapid-fire tank cannons or something? Whatever they fire, it's powerful.
nemafakei
Just massive machine guns with bullets so big, they affect tanks badly.
House_Corrino
They fire explosive AP bullets or something like that.

Duncan
i love that turret gun turret plus rocket turret and severeal gas turrets and you have a good base defense matrix 8)
House_Corrino
Gun turret rock, but I still like Rocket turrets better.
Sardauker-Kirov
Well in every game you need Defensive forces in your base, for example Red alert 2....... I took all my defensive and offensive force out. for an all out of attack. :D I got my base loaded with Ground and Air Defenses. When i attacked my oponent i destroyed the whole base. But he also destroyed mine. :O Just took out the Turrets Easily. Its the same with all houses in Dune, You always need some defensive forces lying around to attack those Biatches with long rage attacksBut i do agree that the Devastator is bit of slow and weak, A few Fedaykins or One sonic tank blast is enough to kill him (Cough* Dumb advantaged Atreides cough*) The makers of the game needs to make some speed and Armour fixes and Some tune downs for the other units in the game thats all :/
evilbaronatreides
well long ranged units are always a good thing in a base, since those units keep away those pesky artillery pieces. Also, an UNPROTECTED devastator falls easily to fedys and sonic tanks. Although devastators are the all purpose destroyers, they still need some back up to keep away any minor threats. Sardauker-Kirov
Like every WW game, Everything needs planning and Tactics. :D
Timenn
I have the idea that all houses are equal in strength, and that's for the first time in a DuneRTS(In Dune 2 Ordos were to weak) (Dune 2000 still)
Sardauker-Kirov
Well, you know what they say. Things that can fit you. Oils better. :D In other words, Play with the house that you play good with. 8) Atreides and Harkonnen are my favorite ( Although they need to make repair units for the harkies :D )Harkonnen=The best for offensive mattersAtreides=The best for Defensive mattersOrdos=The best for Super speedy Actions :D
evilbaronatreides
well, your right, but all Houses have their offensive, defensive, and sneaky tactic the can resort to.

evilbaronatreides
Duncan what do you mean to have reason ??? And insta-gib woud be bland, long range units (and invisble ones) would dominate.

House_Corrino
Hark units rarely gain self-repair, so always have a steady supply of units for defense.
