i was just wondering what everybody thought about this for a new atreides superweapon(takes a RREEAALLLLYY long time to build and you can only have one out in the field at a time.)

The Death-Hawk (imaginative...isnt it  :))

to sybolize legs it will be an advanced carryall.

to sybolize the great eyesight of a hawk it will have a loSight as long as a scouts

it will be flying (obviously)

it will have a sonic tank (air to ground only) weapon wil the same stats as the tank exept a *tiny*

bit more powerful

it will have 4 missiles for air to air protection

Just wondering what you think of this and any comments you might have

when i said a really long time to build i meant like 10 minutes real time

when i said 4 missiles i meant ordos aa trooper missiles(or whatever the weakest kind is)

i also for got to metion a HUGE pricetag of maybe 7000 spice

and you are just taking it out on me because you know that the ordos REALLY suck compaired with the atreides/fremen/ix combo

crazy, no swearing to other members.

And about the idea:

It sounds like that you whole army is at 1 place. And that makes you very vulnerable. A army of lighter vehicels but faster and the ability to scatter is better

Yes, to overpowered.

But something I found in MODs. For some reason, things can not cost a lot of money and take a long time to build. You must choose one. And, you can not build anything over 10'000 dollars. For example you an have this.

Cost = 2000

BuildTime = 10000

but not the other way around.

Back when people were tossing about new unit ideas, I had an idea for a new super weapon...

plasma-yield device

As seen in 'Battle Born' by Dale Brown: a warhead which, when detonated, basically consumes everything in a set radius with no blast/overpressure and negligible radiation effects.

Unlike the Death Hand, however, the PYD is delivered by a cruise missile (equivalent in speed and HP to an air drone) - which means it can be shot down by an alert player.  If it makes it to its specified coordinates, however, it detonates in a silvery globe of a moment's duration; anything enveloped or touched by this globe (which has a diameter roughly equal to a Minotaraus' firing range) is simply gone.

That's intended as a balancing point... it is, after all, a cruise missile as opposed to a theater ballistic weapon like the Death Hand.

Well, making the radius equal to a Minotaurus' fire range would've been overdoing it... as is, IIRC, it's on a par with the DH.  And unlike a DH, whatever building(s) are caught inside the effect area are just no longer there... if your CY gets nuked, you can repair it, but the plasma bomb will obliterate it entirely!

If aircraft actually crashed in the game (like they do in RA2), I would've given a shot-down cruise missile a chance of going off when it hits the ground...
