My mother language is not English as many of emperor players.

I am trying to do my best at speaking English although I feel very hard whenever I have to speak English. Still, there are players who are kidding with our English, at most frequently after they  had been beated. Namely; Desert and Sd00711. What do you think about our language position. Am I doing wrong at trying to speak English?

English is a second nature to me to, and there is nothing wrong with trying to do your best.

the only thing i will recommend to you is that don't drop harvester wen you know you are going to loose

Pl don't make fun out of your English just the way you play.

remember any fool can drop harvesters, but only Pl who cares about a good clean game wont. it is up to you

Well being English, i greatly appreciate the effort all you (unfortunate foreigners) make in trying to write in English, it may not always be perfect but for the most part you all manage to get your message across.

Remember we tend to have a strange sense of humour, so often the comments are just us joking around, sarcasm, irony and generally taking the Micky is often a way of showing friendship and we don't mean to cause offence.

Personally I'm often surprised by the standard of understanding on line, i mean apart from the ability to say the odd hello, goodbye and things of that nature. I have no real understanding of any of the gibberish you guys speak, so I'm often surprised by how well you all understand our gibberish.

Although naturally English being the most expressive and sensible language, it should be easier to understand. (JK)

Like you said, people who take the piss out of others English usually do it for a reason like wanting to make you feel bad.

I appreciate the fact you guys can speak English as well as you can, God knows I cant speak anything other then a few swear words (always the best to learn swearing first in any language!) in some languages (by the way, I can cuss pretty damn well in turkish, as there were a lot of turks in my school, and are lots of turks and kurds in our areas).

Spicy has the hardest english to understand, but thats becausehe does use paragraphs or punctuation. Otherwise even he could very easily get his message across.

Actually if Spicy keeps it simple his English ain't that bad. It is when he tries to put over complex points or perceptions or have forth right discussions, that it all descends in to the chaos that only he and Youko can achieve. ;)

kaleem I've never really had a problem understanding you or your bro for that matter but then we have never discussed much other that the game.

Actually thinking about it, i think some times the problems that occur come down to two or more non English people having a conversation in English, as both parties may struggle to express and understand full what is being said.

In Fact i remember a group discussion that went pear shaped involving a Korean, Brazillian, Russia and myself, where suddenly all 3 ended up arguing and quitting out due to the insults, then all asking me to play with them individually as they wouldn't play with each other due to outrage caused and me thinking WTF happen there!!!

Some people seem to be better at English than what they show me. I.e some people are language slackers. They could type better, but they choose not to, and it bothers me a lot. In fact, if they were in the same room as me, and I were holding a bat, I'd crack their heads. They don't need it, since they don't use it...

However, if you're trying your best, which is what I think kalem and a lot of other guys do, I'm fine with that. As long as you're trying, I'm not whining.

As for me, my comment was made to say that I didn't undersatnd what u had just typed. So I mearly stated "english please". Now if that is taken as some sort of insult, than maybe his english is worse than I thought. I am not going to apologize because I didn't insult or degrade him in any way. I only said and I quote "english please".

BTW I do happen to agree with Alchemi in that there are a great number of people from non english speaking countries that do very well. Kalem included. You all do better at english than I could ever possibly hope to do in your native tounges.

you guys must know that i finished  3 years of English studying in ili(international  language institute) and i went up all the way to the final level...but it was just long time ago

and i forgot some spelling..but the thing is like kaleem said, some peapol here like to get it on

Normally I don't either. In this particular instance I think he was just overly exited because he had just beaten me for the first time in a heads up game. He used all words that individually were spelled correctly as english words, however when he strung them together there was absolutely no coherent thought that I could make out.

I was not tryin to be mean or belittle him in any way. It was just my joking way of saying that I didn't understand what he had typed.

Spanish

Turkish

Japanese are also languages not tongs like you described.
