Yea..A jar jar binks who has slave boys drugged so he doesn't have to wrestle with them...

I am strictly talking about the movies... not the novels... there is some adult oriented stuff in the star wars expanded universe novels as well.

Yeah, villains are a lot cooler in Star Wars. Lord Vader is possibly the best movie villain ever, but Darth Maul is boring; the red face and horns made him too much like a demon (=stupid looking) and he didn't have a personality, because he never spoke anything and all he did was attacking the good guys. Dune has sardaukars, but their role is even more little than storm troopers'.

Darth maul was only cool cause he is the only jedi to use a double bladed saber. So people are never gonna forget him.

Darth maul didn't act because he wasn't an actor. He was a martial artist who trained the actors ..they decided to use instead of their original actor, because he was so much better.

But ya, i'd have to say, as far as a sci-fi villain goes, Darth vader has to be one of the best ever thought of ...

not the best in movie history ( i think norman bates is a really good villain) but definately the best in sci-fi.

Yeah one of my brothers friends sparred with him. Knocked him out too. Just a bit of friendly name dropping there.

Dune is much more adult. It is hard science fiction...

Dune is hard science? I thought it didn't have enough Science-y things to be considered something hard science like Star Trek.

*cough* There are also similarities in the Imperium and Nazi-Germany. *cough*

Meaning what?

I don't see why there has to be so much picking into movies. They're entertainment. They aren't like books. Books make you think, movies keep you busy for two hours.

I'm not saying that Lucas tried to make a hidden message by making the Imperium like Nazi-Germany, but that's one possiblity. For example, the uniforms are *really* similiar, the standard e-11 blaster rifle is actually a sawn-off MG34 and heck, even the stormtrooper helmets look a little like German military helmets. The last one may be hard to believe, but check a side-view of a stormtrooper helmet and you'll see.

There is some cool extended universe stuff. The best deals with the ancient jedi during the sith wars in my opinion. Some of it is absolutely lame. Like the "darksaber" project. my goodness.lol

oh and when the emperor clones himself, and luke, who as a clone is called Luuke.lol

Okay, I saw this movie yesterday (this text may contain some spoilers). My expections weren't really high and I was a little nervous that the movie would be really bad, but when the theme music started to play and the yellow text roll, I was instantly like "ahh, Star Wars". Though it was rather a shock that the text was... childish. It didn't make things any better that they had translated the text into Finnish and the translation was ridiculous.

Okay, then comes this massive space battle. It was rather good scene, but they could have shown more of the actual dogfighting and not just concencrate on the Jedis. But the toy noises of the droid fighters were just ridiculous. Unfortunately the toy noises didn't end inside the Grievious' ship and it was even more stupid that the droids acted like humans. Okay, maybe they have a relly human AI, but weren't the droids controlled by a center computer like in Episode 1? Then HOW can they make such independent decicions and talk just like humans? Okay, maybe I'm a geek because I whine about this but in my opinion it was stupid and just an easy way to add some humour (which doesn't really fit the movie).

The rest of the movie was pretty OK too. I just didn't really like the cuts and the way how they moved from scene to another. I mean, it was pretty lame that they suddenly changed the scene from the Wookie planet right in the middle of the battle.

The lizard Kenobi rode was disguisting along with its voice. What was the crew thinking when they designed it?

And like some others have already stated, it was pretty lame that Yoda didn't sense the conspiracy. "Execute order 66". Blah.

All right, it was pretty good. Nothing too special, but good for a Star Wars movie. I enjoyed it, though there were many illogical things and the combat was somewhat dull. One of my favourite scenes was the one where they installed Vader's helmet. It was awesome when everything else went silent expect for the heavy breathing of Anakin/Vader.

And oh, I can swear I heard firearm noises when the clones fired their blasters. ;D
