Canadians spell it with the u also. and with all other words. Has to do with the french I think.

I would like to point out that there is no such thing as "US English". 'Color' should be replaced with 'colour'.

I had actually considered it some time ago. However, that means that

would become

[colour=FF0000]0[/colour]

we call it a center in the US... even if it is a building like supercenter's or sports centers! (even though we call them a stadium..)

Center is not accepted at all in the UK English Dictionary. Over here, centre is the only way to spell the word.
