I am officially the biggest geek here now.

I just spent a little more than an hour and a half programming this little gem.  You'll only get the full effect by running it from full-screen DOS, but it works just fine in Windows.

Guess the Number 1.0 for IBM PC!

It's obviously based on the "Guess the Number" programs for TI calculators.  (If for some reason you like it, the best place to find TI ones is probably here.)

If you encounter any major bugs, let me know. :)

Edit: I've updated it with a newer version.[attachment archived by Gobalopper]

We have games with neural network AIs, composite engines, graphic objects with 12000 polygons and motion-captured animation, but WHY should we bother ourselves with them when you are able to make such magnificient supergame, megahit storming all magazines, black horse of next E3, in nothing more than half-hour...

Then you're not a geek.

I wonder why people care to learn Pascal.

In my opinion it's an incurrant language.

C, C++ and VB are the 'good' languages  :P

C++ is too slow on my P120 notebook, so Pascal would always be my favorite!

C and C++ would beat Pascal like a refridgerator falling on an egg from a thousand metres...

That's if you know how to program with it, though.

Assembly is the fastest, but right after that, I think you really come to C and then probably to C++.

You know... All 3D games today are written in a mix between Assembly, C and C++...

Yeah, but you take what you can get.  The IB curriculum says you have to start with Pascal, then do Java, and finally C.

And I believe the word you are looking for is "anachronsitic".  Becasue "uncurrent" is not a word. ;)

Incurrant is a fine word!

...Though not yet implemented in any English dictionaries...

I wonder what's up with Pascal?

C is easy enough. It's basic, and as long as your teacher cares to tell you about binary, hex and how the computer is structured, you only need to know the easy commands...

Wow, that thing sucks!

Double semicolons to end code lines?

Uhm, just because C is known to be a hard language, and it utilizes semicolons, that does not mean that two semicolons would make it seem more professional...  :P

I think i win on this front.

At work I code in VHDL (when I am not playing with 100kW motors)

But in my spare time I code in prolog

check those two languages out ;)
