Vanguard3000
Many of them are in the Terminology at the end of Dune. I'll list the ones I remember.Ya Hya Chouhada! - "Long live the fighters!"Hal Yawm - ???Kul Wahad - "I am profoundly stirred" (R.M. Mohaim uses this, but I believe it's a Fremen term as well)HAII YOH! - "Foreward!" (worm steersman's call)Bi-La Kaifa - "Nothing further needs to be said" (Often used religiously, like "Amen")
nemafakei
Naib: Yes, SirHal Yawm: Now, at last, from Ya (the immediate now) - already form (Lat: iam).

Vanguard3000
He asked for battle cries..........Yeah, but YHC is really the only battle cry (well, the only one I can remember right now, anyway).
gunner154
that's it?
Acriku
Another is Muad'Dib. Muad'Dib! Muad'Dib!
Mahdi
Niab is a title given to those who have sworn never to be captured alive, and over time it eventually became the title of the leader of a sietch. It doesn't mean "Yes, sir".
nemafakei
Yes, Naib is the sietch leader, so it is effectively "Yes, Sir" when used in the context of orders being acknowledged.
Mahdi
Um, no it isn't:)
Digital Guerrilla
What about the Battle Cry from the Lynch movie, what were the Fremen warriors saying anyone know I can never really tell?
Vanguard3000
In the scene where they're all in that auditorium, I think they're just saying "Maud'Dib".
Mahdi
You mean when they yell out CHA!? Thats jsut to fire the weirding modules.
dportela
It's because they all had the hots for CHA!ni. ;D
Vanguard3000
LOL @ DportelaHas anyone noticed that most of the Fremen say something like "chaaAAA-SUYUK!", whereas Chani says something like "maaAAA-DI!".
Acriku
Correct me if I am wrong, but in Dune the book, they realize that Muad'Dib the word works along with Cha!, while using the weirding modules. Then they all start saying Muad'Dib.
Digital Guerrilla
Thanks Mahdi, I thought they were saying Cha but I also thought other words were being said at the same time. I do not remember the weirding modules being in any of Herbert's books where does it appear?
Acriku
Where Muad'Dib is training the Fremen for the final battle?
Usul
There not in any just the film (which I haven't seen :'().
Acriku
Curse the poison movies inject into us to mix things up!
quoudam72
Although the weirding modules are not in Herbert's book I think the addition and use of them in the Lynch movie is clever.
Acriku
You know it's kinda weird that since I have read the book twice and saw movie 5 times that no weirding modules are in the book. Is there a dvd version of Dune?
exatreide
Yea go check ebay or amazon. And no the weairding moduls were only in the movie.
