So has anyone else seen this movie?  I thought it was incredible.  The special effects were great, the storyline was pretty good, and the science was almost up to snuff.  What more can you ask from an end-of-the-world movie?

It's based on Art Bell and Whitley Streiber's book, "The Coming Global Superstorm."  Which is a very, very, very good book.

I would say superb SF effects, OK storyline, but...quite a rotten ending. Overall a movie worthy to be seen at the cinama though.

Some points I found unreasonable though...(possible sopilers)

[hide]1)How the hell did they managed to hang onto the glass roof by ramming that pickaxe like thing to the roof? I thought that's also glass!?

2)Can the fire really stop the supercooling...I thought it's -15 degree/sec!

3)Won't a person burst when supercooled? Cooling sown so fast would just burst all the cells?

4)Wolves! They just aren't necessary IMO[/hide]

Good points ExsPlug.  I mainly liked it for the Special Effects.  At the end I was going "Bring it on wolves, we have automatic weapons now".

Probably my favorite part:

[hide]When the Mexicans closed the border to American refugees.  Oh the lovely irony in that...[/hide]

Great movie. There's just one thing that disturbed me like hell..

I saw smiling people all over the place. those kids just saw most of new yorks inhabitants flush away and die horrible deaths and they laughed! That is realy weird ya know.

But i liked the effects a lot

I waited over a week after the American release date to go see it, I had 14 people in my whole theatre.  Didn't see many smiles, other than this little kid who found L.A. being destroyed funny...

Yeah i saw it was, was pretty cool. No1 smiled here :) I also got a lady to put her head on my shoulder and cover her eyes sitting next to me. :)

Come down here and I'll consider it.

And no, I'm not paying for the train.  I was supposed to see it with my girlfriend and some of my mates but we forgot to organise it.

What, so people would die, and kids would laugh at the newly deceased?  Now I gotta see that!

Anyway, it looks pretty dumb to me.  Average Hollywood effects showcase.  But I've heard a few people tell me it's good, so I might see it sometime.

well i like it because it does adress the entire climate change and the new ice age and stuff. I think that's just cool. Special effects are awesome too.

Oh yeah, the kids in the movie were annoyingly cheerful.  And what about

This movie was very cool, I didn't think it would be that entertaining.

My only qualm with it is that how were the three guys after getting out of the frozen ship able to move around that easily when just inches away from them the building was freezing under the super-cooled air? Ah well, it certainly added to the dramatic effect. [/hide]

What's wrong with cheering for people doomed in a movie?

Anyone remember seeing Titanic and the person who falls off the back of the boat when it is sinking and hits the propeller and starts twirling in the air into the water? That was the best thing about the movie. Comedy relief, ;)

Damn straight.  That scene rocked.  *poink!*

It was also painfully obvious that many of the drumheads and morrings were made of foam rubber, but whatever.  That dude hitting the prop was the only thing that film had going for it.  ;)

It's okay when the audience laughs.  After all, it's make-believe.  Now if they had been laughing at some of the more sobering scenes in Bowling for Columbine or something, then I'd be a bit perturbed.  But that's beside the point.  Rene seems to be saying that kids in the movie were laughing at dying people in the movie, which is a bit bizarre.

The movie was pretty dam good. The effects were amazing......

Plot line was a bit on the sketchy side but ah well......the tornados were awsome, that was an awsome scene.

Alot of people dident like it but all I can say is that I enjoyed it.
