If you want to watch someone die, I suggest going to a hospital and watching someone with cancer die over many months. Then a person will not want to see someone die. (Unless you are wanting to see a quick death/beheading, if so then watch some action/horror movies.)

But did Dust Scout not say that if it was one of his relatives he would have been moved more emotionally?

Further, was it the fact that an "innocent" was killed or was it in the way he was killed.  No-one in the "coalition" countries are claiming that it was right (except for those extremists and you know who I mean) and most condemn it.  However, what you must think of is that those who support these groups view it as a just act and that this person deserved to die because of his origin.  They saw him as a murderer.

Of course the terrorists don't say a thing. They don't have access to mass media, they don't have press conferences. But they do explain their actions.

And there is debate as to whether he was alive or not... If they were really wanting to make a statement after all, why not behead him in front of the camera rather than to one side?

Also, my mailbox isn't big enough for a head. I've seen people die. Or at least, dying. Pain is nothing special, especially if it were faked.

there's absolutely nothing what so ever that justifies what happened to Nick Berg, even though I'm strongly agains (or was) what the american soldiers are doing to the iraqi prisoners, non of them can hold their finger up and say they are innocent.

mordus, just because this isn't school doesn't mean that you can have your way with the language. It's only being polite to try and make yourself comprehensible.

I for one am not trying to shift the focus. I'm pointing out that there are other factors to consider than just 'It's a terrible thing,' such as whether the victim was dead at the time or not and whether the action may have been justified, at least in the eyes of some. This does not change the fact that the man died, or that his head was removed, but it adds detail.

At the most basic level this is just another statistic that happened to be a bit more public than usual. Death is rarely pretty, but it's only the public ones people seem to care about.

Let's see. How many helpless Iraqi civillians were killed under Sadaam's regime? I believe the loss of innocent civillian lives by coalition troops has been minimal and far less barbaric than the way Nick Berg was slaughtered in the name of islam. There are many ways to die and nothing is more disgusting than seperating a persons head from their body like a butcher cutting meat while the person is still alive and conscious.

You disgust me the way you trivialize the death of Nick Berg.

Let's see... there's bleeding to death, dying via infection, being burned/boiled alive, pulled apart with wild horses... not to mention all the nasty stuff that could have been done before the actual death such as breaking bones, removing eyes, rupturing organs, that kind of thing... It wasn't a particularly pleasant way to go but it could have been worse.
