Leo requested this poll, and I agree that it's a good idea, especially considering all the recent topics we've had about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

So, which side do you support?

(and just to make things clear, I support neither of them)

Now, let me see if I got the motivation behind this conflict straight:

Israelis kill Palestinians because Palestinians kill Israelis.

And Palestinians kill Israelis because Israelis kill Palestinians.

Not one of the most intelligent wars in history, that's for sure...

I chose to support neither because I support the leadership of neither. Both sides' leadership push for war while manoeuvring to appear to be pushing for peace. As the occupier, the onus is on Israel to either keep the peace or to enact a separation, leaving the details to an impartial judge. Palaestinians themselves are not to blame, nor are Israelis, but militarism on both sides is what causes the war.

Not against Israel (I dislike Sharon, It's not a same thing), not against Palestinians (I support the Palestinian people, but I don't want to be linked with terrorist, because I hate them ! Hamas....beark.. Arrafat why not ? But He protect too much the terrorists !)

Sadly...I wasn't very happy to see the Lakud Party shot down Sharon's proposal to withdraw.

The average Israeli and the average Palestinian are caught in the middle.  Once again, I think Shooting Conflicts to be an excellent documentary to show you the average people caught in the middle, even if it is just two families and their friends.  In it the Jewish man and the Palestinian man both had a few things in common, but the greatest of them was that they wanted the fighting to stop, so that their children would grow up in a better world.

I have agreed in the past with sort of political stance whenever we discuss this particular conflict. I agree with Edric O's statement of the Palestinians needing a voice but I would like to add that so long as it is not Arafat he has spoken enough.

You know I've never heard of an Israeli Jewish extremist walking into a crowd of Palestinian civillians and killing them.  Such an action would be widely condemned by the Israeli populus.  On the other side, polls of Palestinian population indicate support for the terrorist action of Hamas, Islamic Jihad etc.

Ethnic cleansing? Do you have some strong feeling against Israel or something? You don't seem to just "show the other side".

Actually the Palestinians are the ones that try to do that. Just think about this way, very simply, I meet a Palestinian. I won't get too excited and I'll probably try to speak with him. Now if an average Palestinian meets me, especially in a Palestinian City, all alone, he will probably try to lynch me with many other fallows.
