Andrew
Yes everyone will be cheering for Calgary. Although one of the other teams (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/player_bio.asp?player_name=Brad+Richards&hubName=TB) has a PEI person from it who many islanders may cheer for (the guy got an overtime goal in a game a week ago).Toronto won last nights game. They had the play all over the flyers, except toronto would give the puck away a lot. When I seen the first 2 on 1 in OT before they scored I thought they would score, but then they did on the second one 20 seconds later. WHERE was toronto's defence!??!!?Who voted for philly? >:(
Gobalopper
FED2k officially endorses the Philadelphia Flyers to win the Stanley Cup. ;)Or Tampa Bay... :D
Andrew
How could you like them? You live in the same province as the flames! That's very unpatriotic ;)Yah tampa would be my second pick. But philly must lose. Odd, I use Philly in NHL 2000 on PS when playing at friend's house. I recently got silver in a 5 team tournament also. :D
Gobalopper
I've always liked the Flyers since Ron Hextall played for them. :)And I'm not exactly a fan of either team here in Alberta... probably because I used to live in Ontario but then I don't like the Leafs either. Mahdi
Do you hate the leafs and HAbs so much that you'l cheer for any team that beats them?
Gobalopper
No just the Leafs. :)
Mahdi
A spiteful man, you are. I can respect that.
SurlyPIG
FED2k officially endorses the Philadelphia Flyers to win the Stanley Cup. ;)Or Tampa Bay... :DGAH!!! Traitorous Edmontonian backstabbage... >:(
Gobalopper
Don't worry Calgary is much higher then Edmonton on said endorsement list. :)
SurlyPIG
But lower than Philly? And Tampa? :O Cities that far south shouldn't even be allowed to have hockey teams.
Gobalopper
My uncle played for Tampa so I'm a little biased.
SurlyPIG
Fair enough, and I'm with you on the Leafs thing (they're almost the Rangers of Canada), but Philly? I know they knocked out the Leafs, but still...where's your Canadian pride eh? ;D
Gobalopper
I'm more then willing to cheer for Ottawa, Quebec, Winnipeg or Montreal... of course two of those teams no longer exist. :P
SurlyPIG
So why not the cowtown? ??? Or Vancouver for that matter. OR the Oilers...
Gobalopper
It goes something like this:1. Ottawa2. Montreal3. Vancouver4. Calgary/Edmonton6. TorontoVancouver, Calgary and Edmonton are still far above Toronto though... :)
Vanguard3000
I like your list, Gob, although I'd put Calgary and Edmonton over Vancouver, and perhaps Calgary over Montreal.I hear rumours that Winnepeg might be wanting a team again, but that's probably just blind hope. Andrew
The maritimes needs an NHL team. Put one in Halifax and you would get sellout crowds everygame.Because it is only a 3-4 hour drive to go watch a game there across 3 provinces, rather than a much longer drive to Montreal. And of course the Maritime team would win the Stanley Cup :)
SurlyPIG
Well mine is like this...1) Flames2) Oilers3) All the other Canadian teams except the Leafs4) Small market American teams (eg Minnesota)5) Large market American teams (eg Detroit) except the Rangers6) Leafs7) Rangers
Andrew
What's with the leaf haters? :'(It used to be you like the Leafs or the Montreal Canadians, and hated the other team. And Tampa really showed philly the last game ;)Go Brad Richards! There is a bit of Brad Richards fever going on, on the Island. :)EDIT:FLAMES WIN!And Canada won the World Hockey Championship again.
Vanguard3000
Leaf haters are people with class, decency, and respect for the game.
Andrew
NFLD is way too far off the mainland for an NHL team. You would have to take a 6 hour boat ride and get sea sick. (then drive for like 5 hours).Moncton, Charlottetown or Halifax would be the best locations for a team. ;D
Vanguard3000
Well, that was more an excuse to get rid of the Leafs, but I agree.
Cybopache
hello all!I`m a bit of topic but congrats to all you Canadians with the World Championship :O 8)Swedish meataballs did bite the ice.Cybo
