I didn't say this particular virus Lowzee,I just thought that some others might think they were safe,if they just don't open E-Mails.

Remote Access Component

The worm opens a connection on TCP port 3127 suggesting remote access capabilities.

Denial of Service Payload

On the first system startup on February 1st or later, the worm changes its behavior from mass mailing to initiating a denial of service attack against the sco.com domain. This denial of service attack will stop on the first system startup of February 12th or later, and thereafter the worm's only behavior is to continue listening on TCP port 3127.

Hmm, I don't know what to think of virus warnings.

They may sound good of people who try to prevent disasters happening to others. But the problems is that it doesn't work that way exactly.

Whenever there comes a report about a virus, it already did its strike, and all the good virus scanner have updated their customers with the necassary files. So mostly the warnings are too late for the victims, and the ones with an updated virus scanner.

Ofcourse some people are helped with it, and posting this warnings on a forum is a much better idea then making a forward mail. Because an email will go to all kind of people with everyone forwarding it, and so collecting an entire bunch of email-adresses, and they just have to get to the wrong person, and that person has a huge collection to test its virus at. This is the same route spammers get email-adresses btw...
