HEY, is there a way I can change my graphics into the original ones???!! For example the Gas Turret was way different then the one that we now have, it now pops-up like the Pop-Up Turret.

Is there a SPECIFIC mod I can get.....remember I just said SPECIFIC!!!!THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You couldn't give a better answer eh?  :-

What do you mean with new graphics? Do you want the default graphics changed? Or is it that your current graphics aren't the same as they were used to be when you first time played the game?

answer is Yes, but you have to change the textures which is a pain in the ass :P

BTW why do they have unrealesed textures on the back of box's and in advertisments? I know they've done this for HW2, WC3, and emp plus many other games and it's annoying >:(

So the current Gas Turret does pop up?

My mod takes away Ordos and I've had it on for ages whilst I make it so I'm not sure.

Anyway I reckon it should be possible.

Lol yes that's easy as hell. Afterall I made the flames purple in Ragnarok (can't find that bloody mod now though hehe.)

When you did this in Ragnarok did you also have a flame turret with the original flames?

The reason I ask is that when I have modified the flame turret xbf to black textures (ie NO Flames) and say use the sonic ring bullet xbf with that, I get a Sonic turret OK.

If I then try to have an original flame turret, the original overrides every other turret so you get the flames plus sonic ring etc.

What I have not tried is make the original textures black, and then change each turret individually to new flame textures (or gas textures). have you done this and did it work?

Yes I have and yes it works. Make the originals magenta and then make a new XBF for your flame turret, get the original textures (the flamey ones) rename them and alter your XBF to link to it.

I tried out your suggestion and it failed!

I set the !%01fire and !Fire sets of files to complete black, so that nothing could be seen in-game. I then took those original files and renamed them to !%01Flme and !Flme. I then changed the new modified flameturret xbf to call these new files. As soon as I did all other turrets using a modified flameturret fired out flames again...

I then tried to create an external flame-bullet.xbf but was unable to replicate the way that the flameturret has multiple different flame images on-screen at the same time. (Most of the bullet.xbf's use a single image that is moved as the bullet plus another image displayed as multiple identical points, eg flashes).

Apollyon do you have your modified flameturrets,

Well I have got a step further, I can now have a flameturret firing the flames and another flameturret with no flames and use a separate bullet.xbf, eg ixplasma.xbf or lsonic.xbf etc.

I was finding out how to switch off lights and smoke/flame effects on buildings (my mod mixes buildings from the three main houses, and thus have different chimney smoke effects and different lights when building/training units).

In doing that I found out how the effects are triggered and can be disabled without any nasty graphic effects. The result is that I do not need to change any of the flame texture files anymore.

Unfortunately I still have not worked out how to have lots of different coloured flames, since as Apollyon points out the effect is part of the turret xbf and is thus applied to all similar xbfs. (This is aslso the case for smoke effects).
