The German Stermgaver had a atachment in stalingrad that you atached to the of the barrel it sent the bullets around corners, this not new tech, and it isnt firing around corners, they still have to stick the entire gun out, its actully more primimitve then the ww2 version lmao.

Sturmgewehr-44 (Stg-44) shown here with a rare accessory, a device to allow the soldier to shoot around corners--it wasn’t very practical as it only lasted about 2000 rounds beofre being shot out. Also shown is a box of original ammunition, the rare 7.92 "Kurz" (or short) round

it isnt more primitive! they just had a bent barrel to stick onto a gun! lol in fact the thing had many faults, and would sometimes blow the gun. there was no proper aiming either. The new tehcnologies allow aiming around corners, not with some foolish barrel attachment that bends the tragectory of the bullet with a bent barrel. it was corny.lol

I love the mp 44, it is a really neat weapon, the first assult rifle of sort. it also looks cool.hehe

not really, they have to expose the entire gun and part of their arms to fire, in the stermgaver they didnt, if the rifle had a atachment like the stermgaver where you didnt have to expose yourself i could see it being worth something. now its just a fancy view finder,

well, the ak 47 looks like the mp 44, but the mechanisms are much much different, so it is a highly indirect connection. Kolishnikov did have some of his inspiration from the mp 44 since it is the first real assult rifle, but it wasent a duplicate at any meeasure.

the attachment wasent worth much, it didnt have a good success rate and frankly was a waste of good use of bulllets.

It also resulted in the AK47 being made.

for that statement kolishnikov hates you, he hates it when people say that, and look at the AK they only have similar body designs (only the stock and banana clip really) but that's it.

You know him personally ?

I was only re quoting a rifle expert on a web site.

When people think about it rifles like the Ak47 are built for one purpose, to kill people.

Their designs may vary, some might jam up like the SA80, some might have a kick like a mule like a Lee Enfield .303, but they still kill people, so what difference does it make, how good they are ?

Ex you're full of it. The soldier has to only stick out the end of the barrel, and see with a CAMERA (more primitive? ha!) which locks onto a target 400 m away. You can't do that with the Sturmgewehr, biatch.

You know him personally ?

it was in an interview on the history channel, they mentioned how it looked similar and asked if he coped the design. He then got all pissed off and started yelling at the interviewer.

its made for street to street fighting stupid, not long distance, in long distance i can see how a camera could be usefull, but if your trying to kick down the door to a iraqi resistenc cells house and you know there hostile, spraying the area and not exposing yourself would be alot better then sticking your rifle into the room and waving it around, like here i am shoot me. not to mention they could be on the sides of the rifle in close qourters where the camera cant see since its fowarard facing.

Um, ex, you might want to stop before you dig yourself even deeper. First off, I know it is for urban warfare, that was a little obvious from reading the article (which you didn't seem to have done in the beginning of this thread). Second, it can go under 400 m ::) You keep trying to act like you know anything, but it doesn't seem that you do. Also, the corner device snaps right off to go back into regular position, so you're entire scenario is faulty, since they can revert to regular room infiltration technique, or any other CQC.

its so simple to make a device like that, I'm sure many people have thought of making the exact same thing, except they didnt because its cumbersome and looks stupid. I actually thought of making something like that when I was a kid, I knew all the peices and such, but who would want a pistol that weighed more then 2 assualt rifles to shoot around the corner?

This is when you need the scythe as a military weapon reinstated; it can hit round the corner, and it doesn't look stupid.

You Brits always have such simple solutions...

However, I bet those guns can't cut down grass from behind a corner, which this device also can!

Why not just throw gernades around the corner instead it's easier damn it!!! Better than that why not have a smart bullet that acts like a guided missle and uses themo signatures to lock onto the target.
