I'm not really a Trekkie, but I figure a few people here will be. I also figure that there's probably another topic about this somewhere back in the mists of time. But I can't find it. And even if I did, bumping it up would probably be unwise.

I thought maybe I'd share something that a friend of mine found. It's really very funny, although a few of you will have heard it before I expect. Just listen to the file, or download it if you have broadband as it took shorter time for me to do that than hear it online. Just listen to it all, please.

I'd have to disagree with you if you're still talking about movies (Dune and the Star Wars (SW) series just don't compare).

The Dune story certainly has many, many elements not existing in the SW story. But comparing books to movies is difficult.

But back to ST: Some of the series and movies stink, others aren't so bad.

Of course, there are Star Wars books out now, and they're definitely way, WAY behind the Dune books (especially the original Frank Herbert ones).

It is also made by Doctor Soong, but it is an older prototype of the android, and is less advanced, it does not know, nor does it try to become such as date. But time will tell, we might see more of him.
