number6
I have 3 kids and I watch a variety of cartoons with them. Recently I have seen references to Dune in these shows. Specifically in "Sponge Bob Square Pants" and "Grim and Evil". On Spong Bob they were trying to capture a giant worm and there is a scene while they are searchjing for the worm where one of the characters says "Worm Sign" and points to a sign (like a traffic sign) with a "Worm" on it. I doubt any kids got that reference. In Grim and Evil they have a way to look into the future and see that one of the characters has transoformed into a worm and rules the world. She also has a monopoly on cinnamon. It was actually a pretty funny take off of Dune. Anyone else seen these episodes?
Inoculator9
I watched them while my sister babysat for some toddler, lol. But yeah, I noticed these two things and almost died laughing :) They're obviously references to Dune IMO.
