The Matrix Conspiracy (?)

Matrix Reloaded incorporates a whole sub-plot, akin to a wisdom allegory from the ancient mysteries, accessible only to enlightened conspiracy theorists.

The first Matrix film only hinted at this hidden meaning, calling the real world "Zion" after the ancient Hebrew name for Jerusalem, and referring to the protagonist, Neo, as "The One" which is an ancient classical term for God and also has a messianic tone. The first film introduced us to a ship named the "Nebuchadnezzar" after the King of Babylon whose reign is chronicled the ancient Hebrew scriptures and the Old Testament of the Christian Bible, who dreamed a vision (Daniel 2.1) which was interpreted in a way that is as relevant to the movie plot as it is at this present time...

In Matrix 2 the hidden meaning of the plot was confirmed. Neo became known as "The Messiah." We learned the name of a new ship, "the Logos", which is the ancient Gnostic term found in the prologue to John's Gospel in the original Greek version of the New Testament of the Bible: "In the beginning was the Logos... and the Logos was God..." (John 1.1).

The new story also features a French aristocratic character called the "Merovingian", which certain secret societies believe is the family name of the Merovingian dynasty that possesses the Holy Grail, or the Royal Blood, which is protected by the Knights Templar. In other words, the Merovingians are the descendants of Christ. According to medieval European legend, Mary Magdalene, symbolized by the letter "M," was the wife of Jesus. The Merovingian character in the Matrix lived in a chateau in the mountains where the letter "M" is seen in the decorations all over the house. At the climax of the film The Messiah meets the being who designed the Matrix - the world around us - and the character is called "The Architect" which is the name reserved for God in Masonic secret societies.

Matrix 2 also refers to something called "the Osiris", which is the name of an ancient Egyptian God. Osiris was symbolically killed and resurrected, becoming Horus, born of a virgin, the archetypal son and a prototype for Jesus.

Well, my point is that there is a somewhat hidden agenda in the Matrix movies. I mean, Egypt, Freemasonry and Christian Bible, isn't there something here?

Well I think the architect implied the point you are trying to make. The system apparently is setup to handle the anomaly as a sort of messiah, but this is meant to control the anomaly. All the names that are used is just a way to solidify the myth of the anomaly. I personally believe that the "real world" that neo and the rest believe they are in is really just the Matrix's second level of defense to keep humanity imprisoned even when they refuse the program. An even more cruel world is presented to the anomalies thus retaining some control of them as well. I can't wait to see the next movie.

But anyway, Matrix isn't a movie for closed society of religionists and occultists, it just tries to look like it. Very likely is anime serie Evangelion, which was created by possibly same way. Creator took some cabalistic writings (in case of Matrix contacted some Hindu sects, which are in USA plenty), twisted it with newest scientifical findings and whole mix showed as a perfect animation. No conspiracy, we call it business.

I say a bit like Caid. Throw a bunch of esoteric stuff, mix the mystery/nobleness/secularness of the past" with the future, into the present, add some action and whattever what else, and you get a very popular product. Does it lead anywhere? Well does making alot of mystery around something always mean that this mystery is REALLY hiding something? No. But i may still bring a some ideas... totally disconnected ideas without any global scheme perhaps.

I'll see if something really is powerful by looking at what it IS, not at looking if the veils are nice and sexy. Matrix is still a nice movie and brings some questions, but I wouldn't be too sure it brings anywhere (else than everywhere I mean, since it's throwing information coming from everywhere).

Well, it can't be blamed that the Wachowski bros. are also a fan of Japanese animation. Some of the details from the Matrix movies originated from a page of manga or the choreography of an anime.

Neo can stop bullets in the Matrix, and in Reloaded (Spoiler!!!) he stops Sentinels in the "real world" by the same way he stops bullets in the Matrix. Kinda supports the Matrix w/in the Matrix theory.

Now, I wonder if the Matrix is really a pit w/c the humans have dug themselves into... They initially "dug" themselves into the Matrix and are lived 1999-20xx in a virtual reality simulation. If they repeated those same mistakes w/ the creation of machines w/ human-like to better AI (inside that Matrix), another Matrix is made...a new pit w/in a pit...

...and another...and another...unless the first-level humans inside the newly-created Matrix can avoid or stop making those same mistakes and find a way to get out...

Well, just my twisted theory. Feel free to agree or disagree if you wish...

[hide]It wasn't the same way for the stopping of sentinels, as there was an EMP charge instead of just putting up a hand and thinking there was no spoon. The traitor of Zion also let loose an EMP charge, which makes the story reach deeper depths.[/hide]

The Sentinels attacked from beyond the range of the Neb's EMP charge, thanks in part to those "bomb machines" w/c the Sentinels threw at the Neb. Literally. Neo and the rest of the crew escaped before the Neb exploded. Neo stops some attacking Sentinels using the same way he uses to stop bullets in the Matrix. (Another theory for that is that thing now happens since he (Neo) went to the Architect.) After stopping the Sentinels, shortly afterwards, Neo faints; they are then picked up by another hovership. Now if it was another hovership w/c made the pulse, and that particular ship was moving at that time, it should have shut down...[/hide]
