24. Putting god into every reason and considering themselves as the servants of god, while the others are sinners and spawns of hell and deserves to die by American police man hands.

This quote is what I'm using to start off this thread. It stereotypes all Americans as evil butcherers who think they are superior to everyone else. It also stereotypes all Americans as believing they are servants of God, or even believe in God (See Acriku, according to this stereotype you believe in my God.). In addition to stereotyping as butcherers, it also shows every American to be a warmonger...which obviously isn't the case by common sense alone, let alone the hundreds of thousands of protestors against a war in Iraq.

Now let me move on to other stereotypes:

1) Anyone who lives in a mountain range must be a hillbilly with a funny accent, no indoor plumbing, no shoes, unintelligent hick.

My Response: Well I have an internet connection, have seen an outhouse only once in my life, I've been to over thirty states and two Canadian provinces and haven't had an accent commented on, I scored high enough for full scholarship to a college aside from paying my books. So guess that helps disprove that stereotype.

2) Canadians always go "ay".

My Response: I didn't hear that once in Canada...but I'm reasonably certain a few people say it once in a while.

3) The Swiss are evil for bankrolling illicitly earned money.

My Response: I don't believe so. And the Swiss are among the best, if not the best, bankers on the face of the Earth. They have incredibly rigid banking codes to make sure whatever money is deposited stays there safely until picked up.

4) Bush is always going to screw up somehow in a speech.

My Response: I'll defend against that one as soon as he proves it wrong...

5) Communists are all evil.

My Response: Edric is evil? Besides saying all Communists are evil is generalizing, how can we know what is in the heart of every person?

So feel free to post any stereotypes you come across here and discuss them.

Well there's one I made a whole thread about, so we don't have to discuss that.

And I want to comment on the 'ay' or 'eh' stereotype, I say 'eh' all the time. I don't know, I just love saying it. But I'm not canadian.

One I can think of is the computer geek being weak. I'll show them my sexy body, and that'll change their minds quick!

Three words to also combat the computer geek weakness stereotype: School's Football Quarterback

Hey, I'm Canadian so I'd like to be minimally informed of what is that "ay" I'm supposedly always saying lol

PS: I'm still from the French part ;) Also, would Acriku show a picture to convince our feminine members ;D

My..uh.. digitial camera is broken temporarily! (Actually it is, couldn't upload MM3 pics for a glitch confirmation)

'Eh' or 'ay' is like putting a question to it. You like movies, eh? You think I'm the best man in the world, eh?

There's also the extremely common stereotype that all communists have to be atheists. Even communists themselves often hold this stereotype, and never expect christians (or any other theists) to ever join them.

But I am a christian communist, and I'm not the only one. The teachings of Jesus Christ and modern communism go hand in hand. It is only the leaders of Christianity who have always tried to distance themselves from the communists, because they were afraid of losing the political power that feudalism and early capitalism gave to them.

That's a pretty bad one that you mentioned Edric, because it relates to the misunderstanding that anything secular equates to atheist. And people don't realize that religion belongs only in the churches, not on the government lawn.

All Slovaks are too lazy to think, so they cry to have communism back. Party did so many boring things, like organisation, elimination of "enemies"... ::)

All people south of the Mason Dixon line are ignorant, live in trailer parks, drive ancient cars and hate virtually everyone.

I live in Mississippi, often thought to be the center of Southern culture. I am aproaching my second college semester, I live in a house in a gated community, I'm driving a 1990 Buick Regal Sport, and well, I think you simply have to read a few of my posts and compare to the last stereotype.

Also, computer gamers are all lifeless, immature, immersed in gaming universes, and rude.
