that's sort of a tricky question.... if you mean worse as in effectiveness.. atom bomb... if you mean worse as in destructiveness (as in does more destruction, being a worse thing) then that is definately a hydrogen bomb

what kind of question is that, its an h-bomb of course, multiply the destruction of an atomic bomb and you get the h-bomb, the a bomb uses fission and the h-bomb uses fusion just like the sun does

an h-bomb is effectivly like lots of a-bombs... with hydrogen (um... basicly it releases lots and lots of enrgy when it fuses as a result of the heat from the initial explotion- thats why when u see pictures of h-bomb testing u see a huge expotion and then a fraction of a second later u see a way bigger one). its just like the sun, as duncan said except the sun is kept in balence between the constant explotions owtward and the gravitational pull inwards. when an h-bomb detonates, there is no gravitational pull inwards... go figure

im getting confused here..is a nuke more destructive than an Hydro-bomb?

thats sort of a daft question but ill still ask it.

the guy who invented the bomb refuesed to make it when he realized its destructive power so why are they still being made?

part 1) i think a nuclear weapon is more destructive because of the fall-out... making the real destructiveness last much longer after the initial explosion.

part 2) they are still making bombs mostly for protection... so they can say, "don't piss us off or you'll have something coming for you" sorta... :D

but dont both bombs use uranium which causes that fall-out? i thought it took an a-bomb to detonate an h-bomb thats what i saw on the history channel but that mustve been previous h-bombs for all i know, but i still think an h-bomb has a stronger effect, it still needs uranium to start the reaction i believe and once it all blows up the uranium goes all over the place cause radiation poisoning

wraith, an h-bomb is a nuke (nuke is short for nuclear(each bomb uses a different form of a nuclear reaction)). in terms of power the hydrogen bomb is about 10,000 times more powerful then an atom bomb(i think the most powerful h-bomb puts out the equivelent of 60million tons of TNT)... heh
