I heard of a movie called Left Behind. It is something about the final war in history, taking place in the middle east. Some christian prophecy I think it was.

has anyone seen this movie, the books it is based on I think were some of the most sold books in USA?

is this the same schlock that John Hagee solicits for all the time? (he has a bunch of them, i believe this is one tho)

if so, this movie is nothing but ridiculous Christian propaganda that is marketed to those who are terrified of God and told that this movie can help alleviate their fears. ::)

If it is like christian propaganda, then I would surely like to see the movie. and it seems like people like the books since they are the most sold in USA.

I think that it is kinda cool with such prophecies becoming real. but is this movie like a war between religions?

No. It's about the "rapture" or apocalypse. Sort of. Essentially what happens is that almost all people who were religious (Christian-religious, that is) disappeared, and a bunch of other wierd things happened. The story is about those who were "left behind" (hence the title), and how they dealt with their... left-behindedness.

Meanwhile, a charismatic new diplomat has appeared in the United Nations, and is quickly gaining prestiege...

The movie was pretty lame. It leaves the story hanging (because it's only based on the first book - there are six or seven in the series, i think). I watched it at the request of a friend who had read some of the books, and he says the books are much better. On the upside though, one of the actors was also in the Highlander series. Booyah!

The books are very enjoyable at first... but the later ones just get more absurd and more pathetic. Maybe I'm not sensitive enough to enjoy reading about grown men crying and hugging eachother after they've found god ::).

I have seen both films.

They were quite crappy, with an uninteresting story, and dragged out scenes.

I am an atheist, so that may make the movies even more unappealing to me, but in both cases, I think I'd disliked them.

A bit off topic:

Have anyone seen Ravenous? It's a very funny movie, with good acting and ideas that no other films have used.

It's as if it is supposed to be a scary film, but the bit of humour is not making it scary at all.

A rather good choice for a late evening.

Ikke forandr temaet cyborg >:(

Well I think we got plenty of christians in the world to see the movie though ;D But I will try to get both 1 and 2. but that is only because it is the christians winning in this movie.

Actually, that new Diplomat is a Romanian that ends up being the Anti-Christ. I read the book series, quite simply for a decent piece of reading on a boring day, but the movie I abhorred...do you hear me whoever did the movie....I abhor it!

i thought that the first movie was a piece of crap. it jumbled too much up. the books were excellent though. i have read all of them that are out.

just saw the first of the two left behind movies. I thought it was a very good story, but there was too little happening in the movie. I thought it was a war movie. hope there will be more killing in the second one...BLOOD...SHOOTING...KILLING in the name of christ. we want muslim blood! ;D please don't be offended anyone :P

it was a pretty horrible movie. not as bad as Omega Code though. good grief.

When in the hell will they actually make an apocolype movie directly based on teh bible, without hiding any of the gory details. When will they make something that wont care of offending, that shows it for what it will really be?

I saw one that was pretty good, it is called "the rapture". It is based mainly on catholic ideals and is undocternal in many areas. I like it though because it shows it for what it really is. gritty, scary, and shows the true failure of human reason when compared to God's. It was actually done by an agnostic directer. He wanted to show though that it wont be pretty.

of course it isnt the best either, I want to see one that is docternal. good grief none of them are. even left behind isnt. It is filled with personal assumptions and fantasy. the books werent that good in my opinion. they were too corny and too afraid to express how truly horrible and at the same time heroic it will be.

finally someone who thinks the same as I do! I agree totally. I also think that they shouldn't care about wheter they offend other religions or not. make a movie where the true christian prophecy about apocalypse takes place!!!

You guys can't even decide on interpretations of the bible... and I can predict a movie like your's would wage war between the denominations :P
