  1. What is crap?
  2. I can help you get it reading the tile data from the original .bin files if you're interested
  3. Ok, turns out the film font is a modified version of Albertus (according to http://www.kullwahad.com/?p=257) Here's an example using it (note the weighting is slightly different here, but thats easily adjusted in Photoshop):
  4. I think it's fine to bump old unresolved topics, the more we can work out the better. Regarding the logo's font, I thought the font looked familiar and since I watched the Lynch film again a couple of months ago I had a hunch it was from that. Anyway it turns out it is from the film, like much of the game's style:
  5. Great, Gruntlord6 has sent me some of the files and taking a look at them, I think there may be enough information for me to finish the R8/R16 Resource Editor I started a couple of years ago.
  6. Any chance of screenshots of the extracted contents on some R16s?
  7. Was this manual, or did you use the .bin files?
  8. Virgin Games is only the publisher...
  9. Yep Dune 2000 was created by Intelligent Games under supervision from Westwood. Westwood essentially handled production management and some of the overarching technical direction. Some of the technology used in Dune 2000 is Westwood's own, for example the VQA v2 format (FMVs) and AUD audio format which was used by Dune 2000 and also like you say Westwood's own C&C95 and RA95. However, as far as I'm aware (from my limited look at those C&C games) that's about the only technologies shared. There might be a couple of other things, but they're completely different engines.
  10. Haha, hadn't noticed that. I must have accidentally duplicated it when I added the wallpapers section. That's fixed now, thanks for mentioning it.
  11. What do you mean? Added that pre-release screen
  12. Thanks for spotting those D2k Sardaukar, by the way, Google Images also has support by search by image, you may want to try that as well as TinEye. Replaced the Atreides pre-release screen with a higher resolution version - http://d2kplus.com/HistoricImages/PreReleaseScreens/5845-15-dune-2000.jpg Added another pre-release screen - http://d2kplus.com/HistoricImages/PreReleaseScreens/5845-16-dune-2000.jpg Added renders for the two missing palaces, ix and starport (which was also missing) - http://d2kplus.com/images.php#Renders I also added this FMV picture, since it's quite a cool picture and goes well with the green screen picture of the same thing - http://d2kplus.com/HistoricImages/FMVs/314183-dune2000_pc_9.jpg
  13. I recently added: 5 wallpapers - http://d2kplus.com/images.php#Wallpapers Logos in http://d2kplus.com/images.php#Misc (including two transparent versions which I created from one of the wallpapers) Added two new pre-release screens - http://d2kplus.com/HistoricImages/PreReleaseScreens/screenshot_screen005.jpg and http://d2kplus.com/HistoricImages/PreReleaseScreens/screenshot_screen007.jpg Replaced an existing pre-release screen with a higher quality version - http://d2kplus.com/HistoricImages/PreReleaseScreens/screenshot_screen006.jpg Added two renders - http://d2kplus.com/HistoricImages/Renders/dune2k_screen009.jpg and http://d2kplus.com/HistoricImages/Renders/dune2k_screen005.jpg If you come across any Dune images I don't have, please send me a link to them and I'll upload copies
  14. That's a bit awkward because I add new images regularly and it would be a pain to have to create and upload a new zip each time. The simplest idea for you would be to use a plugin for your browser (i.e. this for Chrome - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/image-downloader/cnpniohnfphhjihaiiggeabnkjhpaldj) or to download an application that rips images from a URL i.e. this - http://www.galleryripper.com/
  15. Update: Each page now displays download statistics, additionally there is a page displaying all download statistics at http://d2kplus.com/stats.php
  16. No problem. I've uploaded them here.
  17. Been away the last few days. Here's the statistics from January 10th to March 17th I've started rolling out a new download statistics system, which will be visible on each page (showing the download count next to the download link). Here's the stats from that, note that I've aggregated in existing statistics, as far as I'm aware these counts are correct as a minimum (downloads present before January 10th weren't tracked before that date). If any of these statistics look wrong, please let me know and I'll investigate:
  18. Heh :p I hit a brick wall with the AI stuff F4ever, it needs someone with disassembly experience to work out some of the code in Dune2000.dat, there's just too much data and no pattern I've been able to identify in those AI sections, only managed to identify a few bytes in them
  19. Actually it doesn't contain all the sprites, the Magic Team editor skips many of them, because it can't read all of them. Also I would prefer to be asked to do something rather than ordered :p
  20. Really great work. Regarding resource files, I can take a look. I have a partially complete R16 editor, that may give me enough data to isolate the assets. I've created a UI patch for the MainMenu, which makes (only) the main menu look ok at 1024 resolution. Really this is just an example of what UIL changes could be made. Note that this UI patch assumes you already have the Mission Select patch, if you don't have it, make sure to install it before the UI patch. 1024MainMenuUIL.zip Edit: my guess is the file is in UIBB, which seems to be in a different format to most the other resource files. Magic Team's R8 editor has some success loading the file, but looking at the binary it doesn't look like their editor fully supports it, my own R8/R16 editor doesn't work with UIBB.
  21. Great work N.Kindt, if anyone is curious to try it out but doesn't have the disc handy (or wants to try it with the sub houses fix) I've uploaded a version of DUNE2000.DAT containing both N.Kindt's patch so far and the Sub Houses Fix. MergedDat.zip
  22. I just tested again, I can confirm on 1.06 Practice there is no replacement harvester when yours is destroyed either by another side or by your own forces.
  23. Nice work, since it's just a text file you could simply paste it into your first post, will save people the need to go to another site, download it and decompress.
  24. I just double checked with a fresh install of Dune 2000. As Darlax says, in Practice mode you will not receive a replacement harvester.
  25. Of course, I've added a dedicated page here and added a mention to it on the news on the front page of D2K+ here.
