I am doing the assaination of John F. Kennedy in history and i would like to know what other peoples thoughts on what happened.

Do you think it was what the FBI and CIA thought, with Lee Harvey Oswald

or do you think it was another conspirocy theory. Like the mafia, or Communists.

I would especially like to know what the average american felt what happened.

Personally I feel it was the Mafia, with Oswald as the scapegoat. The FBI and CIA helped cover it all up, to save the mafia-CIA attacks on cuba.

Well about who did what, beats me. I didn't studied the subject. But I know Kennedy wanted to do a few things: stop Vietnam war (Johnson, after him, did just the opposit), get more control on the contry's money (banks don't like, big corporations either since they are controlled better). I also know he was the only one of all the presidents (except another that tried the same things with banks but wasn't he also assassinated?...) that wasn't part of the Skulls and Bones (this is well-known stuff: it's in presidents' biographies, etc.). This is an elitist fraternity which is based at Yale University and is extremely rich (they pay their members' expanses and so on, and in exchange get gifts when members die. They also promote each other with jobs). How I see it, it is a place where the future's most influencial persons can meet when they're still at Yale, and it continue through life. So perhaps he wasn't appreciated in certain power/friendship networks for what they were doing (Skulls being one of the key points of these networks).

So basically, if a US president is more for the control of the economy and some hindrance to big bucks, he gets killed.

Kennedy preventing Vietnam war? Bah, I think it was HE who started it. He started to send military advisors to South. Johnson only made the inevitable, just without any organisation or hard hand. One frontal attack, paratroop raid into Hanoi would solve everything. Nixon had only to shamefully clean the mess. Politics of peace sometimes are worse than one short war. We've seen era of Carter...

I would say Kennedy was murdered by some American, insane of that mess Kennedy did.

Wouldn't know about any advisors unde Eisenhouwer, but Kenedy was the first pres who sent troops by the masses. Kenedy also authorised the invasion of Bay of Pigs in Cuba. Kenedy also had about a hundred girlfriends while he was married. So, Kenedy was basicly an asshole.

Both Lincoln and Kennedy:

- were the only presidents to not be Bonesmen (since I dunno who... perhaps since the 1st president)

- tried to get control over money and banks

- had a certain orientation on politics (I think)

- were assassinated

Basically, it seems to me that if you're too much against certain guys, you'll get trouble.

ONLY the mafia? Do you know how many problematic witnesses died from heart attacks, car accidents and hardly explained causes after? To do all this, having the CIA's files was necessary and the organization needed to be in FBI/CIA/others and so on! Not that I conclude that the mafia had nothing to do with it, but it's not just a kill, everything that's around it seems to make it huge to me...

And of course I kindda doubt that the fact that Lincoln AND Kennedy being the only that weren't part of certain influence networks has nothing to do with both of them assassinated (while they had similarities in their politics). Who is it then? Dunno, but it may be a mix of different influences (criminal/fraudulent/influence networks are covering more than one group sometimes so I wouldn't conclude).

General Dwight Eisenhower, his nickname. DukeLeto, unless you aren't Ike himself, you shouldn't talk about him as about your fellow, he was your greatest president ;)

Pig Bay attack was foolish and laughable: if Eisenhower was a president, they would send a division of Marines with fire support of whole USN caribean fleet. That would make an order on Cuba forever.

Earthnuker, what should president do in your opinion? When he is active like Bush, you call him imperialist, when he allows more freedom, he is too passive for you. Preparations for Cuba invasion were under way, I thought about it as positive thing, which is denying your post. Just Kennedy shitted it...
