Erm, am i wrong to believe that westwood contradict themselves in regards to House Ordos:

"House Ordos has no identifiable leader. Even the citizens on this ice-covered, remote planet have little grasp on who controls their fate. "

Yet couldn't the executrix easily be considered an 'identifiable leader'?

The 4 guys attached to the Executrix is the leaders of the Ordos. To my guess. But i'm not totaly sure about it though.

Anyways.......

The Executrix will bring destruction upon the enemies of the Ordos!

Okay this.

Every game of Westwood's dune has got more descriptive. From only hearing the Dukes name, to actually meeting the Duke.

But, does it ever say that anyone knows about the executrix? You are the supreme commander, Roma the Mentat. Maybe noone else knows?

Maybe the Executrix is the Figure head.

etc.

"LEADER: Unknown. A reclusive cartel of wealthy noblemen, seem to control the finances of House Ordos - and thus, House Ordos itself. No one has ever seen them - except the few generals who formerly controlled what troops the Ordos could muster. One by one, those generals have been eliminated under mysterious circumstances. "

The Executrix isn't the speaker, the speaker is the speaker. And in any case, if they're figureheads, who controls them? The obvious answer is the secret aristocrats. I think that the Executrix just happens to be four aristocrats who saw the advantage of working together but at the same time gave up their secret status. The other remaining aristocrats let the Executrix stay in power since they appear to be doing a good job of it and still share power secretly with those who are still secret and not attached to each other. In other words, the Executrix are/is in charge, but they/he/it is still one/four of many.

They probably didn't hire writers for the game. Most game developers that are new to the business think they can creatively create a killer story themselves, when in fact they need specialized writers for that. Or WW didn't have any money to spare for a writer.

WW is soooo bad and stupid and unlawful and uncreative, yeah I'm sure Navaros. So when will you be making your own game development so finally you will get what you want in this cruel cruel world that does anything but let you have a way in it?  ::)

The Or was formed from a rich cartel of traders from an unknown, icy planet. In d2k, you meet their mentat (but no leaders) Edric O.  In Emp, you see the Executrix, supposedly the actual leaders... although probably representatives of the cartel's most powerful factions.

My theory is that these are just a cover-up, and Edric is really making a solidoprojection of the speaker, having taken over House Ordos.

Not that it matters...
