Battlebots = Worst Show Ever

This show is based on a GREAT idea but the execution of that idea is horrnedous. so much so, that I declare Battlebots to be the worst show ever.

once I was watching the show and they had this really amazing bot named "Cyclone". that thing would pulverize ANYTHING. it had a HUGE spinning metal blade at the front (kind of like the Buzzsaw in Emp) and no other bot could get near it without being torn to shreds. except of course, puny, weak little bots that can outmanuever it but would have no feasible way to damage it.

needless to say, Cyclone pulverized every other bot on the show, won the "Championship" - and then on subesquent shows they don't have Cyclone any more.

so we are forced to see inferiorly-designed bots fighting each other with stupid, idiotic weapons that are simply pathetic. ie: a hammer-type mechanism designed to bash the other bot --- of course that's hardly ever gonna connect in a fast-paced, close-combat fight. how moronic! so all i'm thinking while watching these stupidly-designed robots fight each other is: "Cyclone would annhiliate every one of these other bots, no question about it. so what's the point watching these lower forms of life???!!!"

the subsequent shows don't even feature other bots that have the same sort of design concept as Cyclone. a rotating-disc weapon is definitely the best and most effective way to gurantee victory against any bot which does not use the same sort of weapon, therefore watching any other type of bots fight each other is actually insulting the viewers' intelligence and very likely making them stupider in the process

of course there are also a lot of other really ridculous things about the Battebots show: "House Robots" -- that's not fair!, flames sprouting up randomly out of the floor and disabling a winning bot randomly --- that's not fair either... plus the whole show is mostly just silly talking/poor acting by the robot operators and "instant replays" that are shown in lieu of the match that is already in progress!

i wish there was a Battlebots type show that wasn't so frustrating, immature and stupid.

I personally liked the show.

Nav, you must remember shows are just meant to provide entertainment. Through comedy, stupidity, illogicaliness, drama reality is irrelevent. Besides its not incredibly diffacult to change the channel rather then wacth it and come here bicthin' 'bout how one show isn't good..

I can think of far worse shows. But Battlebots could have been done alot better.

They should have fought to the death, most rounds all that would happen is that the bots paint job would get fu***ed up and then it would get disabled and shoved into "the pit" which was stupid in itself because all it did was make it look like an explosion and just shoot out smoke.

And also nav, cyclone wasent the best bot, there was another bot that could have whooped cyclones ass.....was like son of habache or something like that cant rember though. It had like three downward pointing arms that were connected by a cable and then the arms started to spin faster and faster. When it got go full speed if anything got close to it , WHAM. That bot is done. That was the ultimate bot.

from all the bots i've seen on that stupid show, anything with an "arm-type" weapon would get owned by Cyclone long before it could strike. I don't suppose Cyclone was ever beaten *on* any of those shows, ever?

yes "the pit" is another really dumb thing.

if someone made an Adult Battlebots with real violence, no stupidness, and no poorly-designed robots, that show would be a real hit. no wonder Battlebots got cancelled; it sucked soooo much

now if only they'd stop showing reruns on a whole bunch of networks...

Have you seen Robot wars, the UK version (and the precendent, as I recall)? I've seen some of both, and I prefer the UK version, though it has become rather monotonous.

I think you are messing up Battle Bots and Robot Wars Arohk. I have seen all seasons of Battle Bots and there were no pits, no flames and no "House Robots". That was in Robot Wars on TNN (before it was also cancelled I think). Son of Whyachi ruled all bots in its path. The only loss he had was when he tried to heighten his hammers and threw himself off balance causing himself to flip over. He was famous for one-hit knock outs in his first season (You should have seen what he did to Nightmare. Damn near nothing left).

I've seen some rounds of Robot Wars on RTL 2. Tough the technology isn't like battletech, but fun it was. Especially Chaos2, even those "police" juggernauts had problem to stop it ;D

As previously stated in this thread, it was dissapointing to see that the robots were declared destryoed by just getting a few scratches in their paint >:(
