About 6 or 7 months ago, somebody first visited Dune Editing, and seemed to startle everybody with his theories behing modding. He came up with great ideas involving hiding units, adding complex veterency levels, and creating the most complex tech tree imaginable. Though his topics did not get many replies, his ideas were truly innovational, and deserve more credit than they got. He started to make a mod with a group of people based on his ideas, but it seemed to of stopped. For these reasons I will try and take the ideas that Kingpin left us and turn it into one super mod. I have attached the Tech Tree that he had planned on using, and hope that you all enjoy. I have begun basic work, and notice that none of the Teir One houses change, Kingpin wanted it that way because they were greatly balanced in the start. I will try to add approximately 3 units to every tier 1 house, 2 to every tier 2 house, the tier 3 houses will have 5 units, and the tier 4 houses will have 5. It probably will not be playable i campaign mode, as it would be way to complex to make it possible. There will be alot of XBF editing, and all new textures. Actually his tree was more complex than that and he actually made this mod up to and a bit past alpha stage.

there were also superior houses weren't there? if i can get this much done then i can work on those, but this will be hard enough as it is. and yes, apollyon, i would love your help once i really get to work.

i have been thinking of many different house and unit possibilities for the mod. The one thing that I would like to include is defianetly some of the units that i made for maros. I would like to see the face dancer in this mod. and i would like to see the reverand mother and the ninja. and i would also like to use my plasma thopter(subject to change) and the global tank. all of the help that is being offered is greatly appreciated.

if anyone can help, i really need unit ideas right now, im not good at them at all, so i need help. once i can get the units and buildings down, we should be able to start. remember that some of the better units i made from maros will be in this mod.

Jacob and Volt's Face Dancer really has me thinking...If two True/False statements cancel each other out, is it possible to simply lateral move your unit to another, more convenient unit? Say for an aerial APC, switch from the Orni=True to APC=True when it lands to release the troops? Or say, my idea for a support Leech, switch it from repairing your units to infecting his? What are the limits to the morphing sequence? Could it be possible to have the Saboteur do the same, switch units, so that we could build real paratroopers? If, after all that, we still have the MCV-class. What are the limits to that, what can we make? Is it possible to build a trojan horse? An MCV that you can transport via ADVCarryall and deploy it into a new type of offensive structure? Picture a combat barracks. Maybe you could build a special unit from there, trade exoribant price per unit, for speed of production. You wouldn't pay 1000 dollars for a grunt to take a hill, but what would you pay to take his construction yard??? Or you could build something totally useless, and sell it, leaving say a plattoon of grunts on the ground. Indeed, while we have an extraordinary amount of restrictions placed on us, we do have quite a bit that we can use.

i have been working on paratroopers based on kingpins ideas. it may be possible, but i am having no luck so far. i have a working face dancer, that was pretty easy. i have also been working on the bene gesserit. so far i have the bene gesserit sister and the reverand mother done. the reverand mother was a unit in the maros mod, it uses "the voice" to control enemy units, not tanks. the sister has a small pistol. i am slowly going to work my way up the tech tree, making this mod completed thouroughly(excuse the spelling). Textures for the Bene Gesserit Buildings are also almost done, expect about 7 screenshots by Friday.

Is it possible to build a trojan horse? An MCV that you can transport via ADVCarryall and deploy it into a new type of offensive structure?

I know that something like that is possible. I've successfully created a 'truck' that deploys into a turret. The truck can be carried via Advanced Carryall, it can also be sold while in turret mode. Additionally, I was able to make it so that the turret could redeploy into truck form and move.

Is there any assistance you need? I haven't done it in a while, lol. But I would definitely enjoy writing a story for this mod :) And if Maros isn't really coming out... could I post the story I wrote for that aswell?
