Are you against the Government, i am, because, when someone wins a big prize or something the government is there to take away 30% that just pisses me off, like say someone wins 1,000,000$

the government would take away $300,000 or more

And is THIS a reson for a political system without government?... A government taks 30% because it is considered as a salary, the same way rich people may be taxed even more than 30%. Are you against taxes?

Taxes are just one thing governments are doing so even if you would be against taxes, it wouldn't give a very global view of the question.

Dune_Doc: Careful when you say never. Some will answer you with the Spanish revolution. I still do not agree with anarchism but I didn't studied the subject enough to really talk about this revolution...

no taxes = no schools, no hospitals, no police, no public facilities...

Correction:

no taxes = private schools, private hospitals, "private police", private facilities.

in small groups it works, but practically any system can work in small like minded groups. Some french communities practiced it and each individual would lead themselves without say from another. I think it is evil, but like I said, you can do almost anything in a small group. An entire nation? geesh, that is totally impossible.lol

No, im not against th taxes. i just think that its BS cuz those people on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire lose abunch of $$ it should be called who wants to be a multi-thousand aire(tax free)

Also those teachers that work are always striking to increase their amount of pay. if they dont like their job then jsut quit it whil they are ahead

XXX, do you think people should not be able to manifest? Do you know what salary teachers have for their job to say if it is correct or not? It's not because someone is unhappy from losing money that he shouldn't lose money... The question is if it's globally better for it to go elsewhere, if it is supposed to go elsewhere.

even though it could have been stated better and with more info, I agree with billabong on the teacher issue...

Posted

On the teacher issue, unfortunately many teachers are quitting their jobs and going to much higher paying jobs. Our education in general is suffering because of this. Teachers teach because they want to teach. That doesn't mean they don't deserve more money for their vital services.

Posted

Many teachers should strike for more money, after all - that is what this country is all about. But, a lot of the teachers teach because they want to, so they are either content with the low income, or they work a second job, or quit this job altogether.

Posted

In Slovakia they deserve a higher respect, because they do no strikes and teach as best as they can. Altough it was a very weird guy who made a system of what they should learn...

No government = no law.

In Basra the Ba'ath party has collapsed but there has been noreplacement set up so there you have no laws, perfect anarchy.

What happens? All out looting, if it isn't nailed down it isn't there much longer.

If teachers don't have salaries that are reflecting their work, I don't see the problem for striking. And the counter effects are simply due to the society not adapting well.

With a smile becouse if there is anarachy then whare can i cash the check?

If their is anarchy no one can protect me from theivs

if their is anarchy looters can come and get my stuff.

Billa, it was the government that allowed the lottery to play in the first place, so quit your whining. If I won money, I would expect the government to take a lot of it away (less than 50%, which is what you seem to be thinking) for whatever the hell they want. I got this much money with a dollar, and I shouldn't be complaining.

Ok, on Who Want's To Be a Millionaire, you should be blaming the producers who make the show. The government is going to tax it no matter what, so calling it that is just cheap. You are a millionaire, though, until they tax it.

If it wasn't multiple choice, and without the life lines, then I'd say the people earned it. But with these, it's just chance and guessing. Jeopardy is where people earn their money, but the government must still tax it because that is how the country is. Don't like it - go to some french Qui ont Voulu
