What is it with Emporer players these days? It's as if some of them don't even read the manual before jumping online. Take this guy for instance:

I'm not complaing, just making a suggestion: Play some games against the AI, at least read the manual, before coming online. You don't jump into the deep end of a pool not knowing how to swim, do you? Well, it's the same principle.

I agree, although that guy you played sounds like he was taking the michael (laughing derisively at you ;)). You get people like that who are pretending to be newbies.

I was thrown into the deep end by my mother.... I learned very quickly... why waste time learning useless BO's and wasting time offline when none of it helps you since the online competition is a whole different level than against the computer. Reading the manuel would help with knowing what units are what, but playing the single player does no help at all, other than learning the layout of maps and build times of units. But that is just my opinion. ;)

I thought so too, but when I got to his base (I had an upgr. factory, fully upgraded ref, upgr. Rax, two windtraps, and a Gas turret.) all he had was a Con yard, un-upgraded ref, and windtrap. :O

That is the point that DukeLeto is trying to make. This person did not know how to start (if the person was not faking being a newbie). You get good at the game when you are playing on the internet. Offline, you learn how to do simple things, such as move, deploy, and you learn about what units can do.

haha, that is kinda, hmmm... how should i put it, PATHETIC. not the harvester thing but, deploy mcv, you got to be kidding. I found that out the first time i played emperor and i didnt even have the manual.

note your use of the words "these days". Emperor has been 95% n00b morons for longer than the past year. "these days" is a serious understatement. it's been eons since the average Emperor player was at least half-decent

haha, that is kinda, hmmm... how should i put it, PATHETIC. not the harvester thing but, deploy mcv, you got to be kidding. I found that out the first time i played emperor and i didnt even have the manual.

My manual is still in my Empy box.....I just used the stuff i learnt from TibSUn and RedAlert2 and just try out with AI games ;D
