its a rant by me.

another one.lol

I have noticed that there is no middle ground. not many people seem to realize that we need to always see with reason and not emotion. Of course we all go through that sometimes as do I, but some people just blindly go to the far left or far right. People bear grudges and hate their opposition. They bring up statistics and other info from equally bias and closed minded people from so called "credible sources". "Iraq should be taken out! they pose a threat to all humankind. Saddam is hitler!" please! or the other group, "I think that war is evil and it shouldnt happen. saddam hasent been too bad and besides. We should accept the global opinion of non military terms." Again, another naive opinion that goes nowhere fast. People are so stuck on idealism and self righteousness that they seem to lose touch with the reality of this world. Of course we shouldnt attack Iraq because its none of our business. Of course saddam is an evil man and shouldnt be a leader. How many leaders though currently are dangerous to people directly or indirectly? These emotional crusades remind me of the butlerian jihad. An emotional attack against a group of enemies. They had good reason to fight. It was for their lives, but they went overboard afterwords and rejected all the bad AND GOOD that comes of technology. It just is sad to see so many kids and adults now days that claim to have an open mind, make themselves look like fools. Of course I get self righteous sometimes and I have the same problems. I try not to though. It seems that some people cant admit their problems and at least try. I am not trying to be self righteous here on this post at all. I just am expressing how I see things now days.

well guess what? this rant is over now.lol dont kill me guys.lol ;)

some people genuinely sometimes to have an open mind. And not all who dont are idealistic, they can also be cynical. Cynicism (IMO) tends to lean far more towards reality than idealism does.

very true. I am talking about people who dont listen. I am a cynic, but I wont bash other people's views or force them down other people's throats. I will listen to what they have to say, even if I know I dont agree with them. Its just being nice to do so. Of course we all fail at times but at least we try. Spiritually I am closed minded, that is an example. But spritiual matters are different in my opinion.

I find myself more open-minded after an intense physical therapy (like now), so everybody run a few miles and come back and post, so the flames are left out :)

I agree, I always feel more receptive after running ;D

But I agree TMA. The problem with America and the world at this point is the lack of a middle-ground, preventing easy compromise. When political views are restricted to the far right and the far left, no compromise comes easily.

To many rants now i'm going to have to kill ya! >:D

Well. its mostly just the internet. somehow reading letters is just diffrant then talking. and when someone reads an arguement there's some kind of a brain lock that isn't there in real life (with most people anyway) and you can't express emotion as much. like smiley faces for example.

we should bomb iraq! :)

the smiley faces seem to make it offenceive like. you can't show emotion like you can in real life. and it seems somehow like your a negtive thinker or something. :)

anyway. i agree with TMA as well. in some cases there is a middle ground. i think we should look at both sides in views then make a choice which or pick neither.

Maybe we should have a sticky thread for this, "Daily rants" ;D

It's basicly a feedback loop. Emp says, "Take out Sadam and Edric then says "Bush is an asshole, then Emp says ""bomb those $%#& Iraqi" then Edric says "Bush = Hitler". Things get emotional because people refuse to listen to eachother.

then Emp says ""bomb those $%#& Iraqi

quote me right. I never said anything remotely like that.

I am for freeing the Iraqi people. I am actually pro-Iraq. You are anti-Iraq. I am with the thousands of Iraqi people around the world who support the majority EU in a possible use of force in Iraq. Can you find me one single Iraqi who lives outside Iraq that is against removing Hussein? Do it please, because I'd like to hear about it.

Iraqi-Americans Cherish Freedom

As most of the Iraqi Americans have noted, the biggest difference between their homeland and their adopted land is the freedom they enjoy here. And they are worried that a postwar Iraq would not have the same liberties, especially if a U.S.-occupation of Iraq lasts several years.

"I agree with the action to change the regime only

Don't go offtopic!

Especially not in a rant which is about such statements as you give here

>:(

uhhh i hate to say this, but if someone is gonna put in their rant:

then Emp says ""bomb those $%#& Iraqi

then I am going to respond. I wont let false quotes under the guise of being a "rant" get by. Just cuz its a "rant" does not excuse misquotes like that.

Try reading Earthnuker's post again.

And then think about it for 1 time

You will see then what I mean

how about I rant about TImenn saying "#$#$ emprworm and his pro-Bush BS"

would Timenn get upset that I misquoted him so blatantly? If he does, he is justified. Because TImenn never said "#$#$ emprworm and his pro-Bush BS"

I am PRO-IRAQ. That is my stance. My stance is nothing like what Earthnuker said.

I think Earth never meant it to be discussed, just his remark, and emprworm getting pissy over it. Happens a bit don't ya think?

oh ok. I'm sorry for getting pissy. you're right. It was just a rant right? So that means I shouldn't have said anything. Allright, cool. I take it back.

now let me add my rant:

It's basicly a feedback loop. Emp says "Provide evidence for your claims" then Acriku says "I don't need evidence. What I say is fact. I am superior." then emp says "But Acriku we are all human. None of us are better than anyone else" then Acriku says "I am better than all of you. I am a supreme being. I don't know why ppl don't worship me." Things get emotional because people refuse to listen to each other.

My rant is as follows.

I keep seeing people saying one thing, and others refuting half the message, or ignoring the whole stance, and taking each sentence as something in a hermetically sealed bubble to be cruhed one by one.

Would that everyone took the time to look at each other's statements, give them the benefit of the doubt, TRUST them, and assume that they have the strongest argument presentable (and/or any or all others, if necessary), which can then be attacked.

i am assuming this is a veiled reference to me.

then Emp says ""bomb those $%#& Iraqi

what was the "other half" to this please? I missed it.
