Yesterday I went to the Cavern in Liverpool to watch my friends band play their first proper big gig ON THE SAME STAGE AS THE BEATLES USED TO PLAY! My best friend was stood in the same spot as John Lennon stood when he played there!

I am very excited about this.

I was all emotional on SOOO many levels yesterday cos I was stood in the Cavern, cos Marc was playing there, cos John Lennon had stood *there* cos.. arrgggghhhhh!!

Do you guys like the Beatles?

Oh look I am standing right where John Lennon took a crap after his concert! OOo this is all too much... ::) What's the big deal? These people are normal people, they do not levitate, and it would be just enough to say "OH they are playing at the same concert as the Beatles" but to say "He is standing right there where he once stood!" is a little obsessive.

i got no respect for illegal-drug-using junkies, which all of the Beatles were.

everyone goes on like they are the best band ever just because they have a few guys who can actually sing. LOL sure, not many people can actually sing in pop music these days - they can just have the studio equipment alter their voices until they sound good - and it's all about how you look, but that doesn't mean that its a MIRACLE that a band actually had some people with singing talent in it. ability to sing is about all the Beatles had going for them. their lyrics sucked. the music itself sucked.

Beatles to me only mean: "just say no to drugs". otherwise you get all buggered-up like John Lennon and die when you're 54 like that other Beatle did (i don't know his actual age but I do know he died way younger than a non-junkie person would have died)

;D I know! I know I'm obsessed.. but hey, I'm an obsessive person. Sometimes I lose track as to whether I'm obsessed with things because I am obsessive by nature or whether I would be obsessed with them anyway, but the fact is.. I am!

I agree about The Who, Vanguard. I love The Beatles possibly more because of the history than the music. I read a lot of books about them (I have a collection that I could start a library with) and I seem to just crave knowledge on the subject, which may be put to good use as I have applied for a job as an education officer at The Beatles Museum!

The Who, on the other, simply rock.

A lot. ;D

Well Chani I think that is awesome being at the Cavern. It's such a musically historical place and in my humble opinion the Beatles were the greatest band that ever existed!Yes i'm a big fan, whenever i hear their songs it "feels good".It must have been really special for your friend to be there.i think it was just last year that "Macca" went back there to give a show for charity, along with David Gilmour(pink floyd)my other favorite band. :)I'm sure you will remember that experience for a long time.

There are some neat things to know about the Who, too. (err... no, I'm not an owl ;)).

Like Rojer Daltry playing Fitz in the Highlander TV series, or Keith Moon running over his chauffeur (how ironic!).
