Just wondering (this was done on another Dune forum out of interest....) how many members here are female? Myself, I'm male. I know I'm probably meant to organise a poll, but I enjoy being a sand flea....

The vast majority are male, though.

Strangely enough the Aliens and Predator universe has an exceptionally high number of females. It was unbelievable... about 30 to 35% was female

it's odd though Dune has many female charactors of great importance.

well, yeah Jessica, Alia and Chani have an important role. But are still in the shadow of the main character, Paul, and in later books as far as i've read it were also mostly males who got the most important role, even though Ghanima also had a pretty important role

but like they said, Ripley was the main character in the 4 alien movies. And even though i'm a male. I must admit that she's the coolest woman i've ever seen :)
