So.. how nasty (hard) are multiplayer games compared to games against AIs? I've always enjoyed playing games in multiplayer, but usualy have shyed away from RTS as (besides its tough to just pop on, play for a few mins and then leave) i figured i would always just get my butt licked. Usualy envision RTS multiplayer players as a lot more hardcore then FPS or the like. (Mainly because of the stratigies you build up while doing it).

Theres a few players that are referred to as elites from what I hear I'd be one of those....Anyways there are more players that are new to multiplayer or the game like you, EBFD online is great fun and start playing it, get a building Order for wahtever House you like to play as, and start multiplayer up, remember, we all started somewhere! :)

Well, i'm not looking to be really amazing or even good. Just to play and have a good time. Every previous time ive tried RTS multiplayer its basically been just "who knows the fastest best way to make attack units really quickly and destroy the other person before they do the same to you" which... well, isn't really what im interested in.

But anywho, thanks for the info. maybe ill actually install the "internet components" and try it once or twice :P

It's the same here. When I play online, I just have a good time. But the only way I am able to last longer then 2 - 3 minutes is if my opponent explains something to me. Apart from that, I'm whooped off that map quiet easely (even when I at the start think "hey I might actually have a chance" :))

I'm a top ranked player, no one has been whooped more then me ;D

But that doesn't take away the fun I have in playing ;)

LOL. "How hard are the EB4D online players," you ask? Well, in the words of Private Joker from Full Metal Jacket, The EB4D online players "are salty. They are ready to eat their own guts and ask for seconds." The EB4D creators "are proud to see that we are growing beyond their control." EB4D "does not want robots." EB4D "wants killers." EB4D "wants to build indestructible men . . . men without fear."

:D

No! Try it more times. When I started playing multiplayer, I got defeated almost every time. But I learned from my losses. And finally I got more winning games. I'm still not elite. But that is because I didn't pay more attention to it then that

Well, its pretty much like i figured: just grunt rushing. If you dont know how to build things as fast as you can, then your done for. (No this isnt a stab at anyone. At most its a stab at myself). Its pretty much the same style as it was back in the old warcraftII online days.

All well, guess ill be uninstalling those darned internet components again. GG to those who beat me btw. Good teamwork and "take the newb out first" strat.

Hrm. Like i said in the last post, it really wasnt ment to be a stab/flame at/on anyone. But looking at it it can still be read as one (just saying its not doesnt change that really). Its just an observation really.

"Grunt rush" probably isn't really the correct term either, as that would be more like building as many soldiers as possible and sending them (fast build up of the cheapest, quickest and earliest to build unit for those who never played WCII).

I'd have it say its more like if you dont know the correct patterns for building the fastest, or your not a "speed" player then well, dont play. I was rolling out my first combat tank when i had a artillary being airdropped on my defenses so...

Not for everyone i guess and unfortunatly still not for me.

Ahhhh so your the kind of guy that gives up when he gets bashed a few times eh... Well then you are right.

Unstall those internet components and never play again.

You might as well uninstall every other game that poses a challenge of any kind, apparently you are not made for it :P

Maybe you should go back to Tetris or something like that.. No wait it has some kind of challenge.. forget it LOL

I think he's trying to say that he just doesn't like games where it all comes down to create a huge army as soon as possible, which I can understand.

That's one reason which has hold me back to play online. Now I just join to see how ong I can last, but there's no way on earth I could beat any one of you.

I see no need to put someone down like you did, just because he doesn't like rushing games...

Any rush can be stopped, it just takes some time to get the hang of it, and it seems that he doesnt wanna put some effort in it.

Sheesh I have been bashed so many times when I got on as a fresh new no0b, but I gave it my best shot and it got me further than quitting when I couldnt get a win within my first day.

And it's not all about rushing, and to new guys I'm sure it goes all so fast, but you just need to learn the tricks of the trade..

Wow. glad to see that its such a "Friendly" and "inviting" community.

Its unfortunate really that the staff members are the only congenial ones here. Of course, that in and of its self is about as fair as that poor sap's comments, as i'm sure, and hope, no one wants to be represented by someone that obnoxious.

And for the benifit of others that may accedently read this post, i'll do my best to refrain from commenting any further on the ignorance of such a person as "Doomp0w3r," as i'm sure these forums were not ment to be set up so fools like him could start flames.

All i can say, do not give up so easily... you can still play some good games online.

There are even some players/clans that give you some advice. I agree that games of 3-5 min are not interesting but i played some great games that took a few hours to finish....

And by playing and practising with stronger players you will get better yourself.
