That's a good point Ace. You probably know this die4 but I have Norton Antivirus which updates automatically. On my 56k, going from one site to another really gets slow when it does its auto updates. Maybe it is updating when you have the game on. I could definitely see, especially on 56k, how that could cause lag.

Actually, people may not know this, but the amount of lag in a game has nothing to do with WOL, or B.net, or MSN Gaming Zone, or GameSpy, or whatever else you use. Those are just macth-making services. Once you start the game, they are out of the picture.

the thing that causes the most lag is probably system specs. if you have low system specs and cant have YOUR own units run and not lag, and you do this in the multiplayer game, it slows down the other guy to keep him from having an unfair advantage even if his specs are much higher than the system requirements.

the other parts are (obviously) internet connection, but it has to be stable, and programs running.

defraging your hard drive and if you have norton, running disk doctor and speed optimizer is nice too for cleaning up the lag.

Hehe, that lagging with too many units is also in single player. When I was bored and I built 100 Fremen and Sards, and I moved them... lag...
