I just played my first online game of WCIII...I got newbified so bad :-[

The guy build watch towers near my base entrance, and put a catapult near it. When I tried to kill it (even with footman), I end up loosing most of my army. I lasted for barely half an hour.

EarthNuker, even tho OT(Offensive Towering) is rare nowadys,i suggest you ALWAYS scout especially against orcs. Also,what race do u play? I'll give you some tips and strategies that will give u total 0wn4ge....

hmm it's hard to give tips, cuz there are so many strategies and those tips only apply to few. It's just best to learn them yourself

There is no such thing a Standard Bo, every map has a diffrent strategy and it depens on the opponent what your tactic is, you can't possible using 1 bo per map or race, that would be stupit.

I was human. I'm not sure what part of the map he started, but seeing how quickly he did it I'm sure he was right next to me. I should have scouted the map :-

you do not need to scout the entire map asap, it's not a bad idea. but at least make sure that you scout secret places where he could possibly build offensive towers

I'm scytale88 from uswest and i haven't played a ladder game in 4 months :O :O which explains why im level 4 still :P but i saw a helms deep ,map ;D but couldn't get into room :P

well actually u should be a lvl 1.,...XP decay...if u dont play ne ladder games for a period of time ur experience points decay and u begin to lose lvls slowly.....

Thats still newbie lvl...hell i'm lvl 9...but ne ways, theres always mass casters, footman then gryphs, and of course footies then mass team tanks

How about Gyrocopters? They seem to be very good against air units- unfortunately they suck against buildings :(

hmm yeah, use them as scouts or vs. air, not realy good vs. land units. Vs. buildings they are ok cuz of siege damage, but i usually don't build em.

Use whatever strategy you like. I just build about everything, from footmen to priests, sorceresses knights etc. Even in late game i keep like 4 or 5 footmen in my army.

Damage versus building isn't bad for gyrocopters, but mortars and siegetanks are much better at it. And gyrocopters are killed quite easily :(

In a 3on3 game have 2 peopel be main fighters/creepers/skirmashers and have one make alot of gyrocopters (18) and than just mass air.

I have never seen it action though.
